Hello,

Can someone explain to me why my photos are endlessly multiplying in the Windows photo gallery?

What can I do to fix this?

Please respond in simple and clear terms, as I am a beginner in computing.

Thank you

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello,

This is not really an infographics issue, it's indeed a matter of images but it has nothing to do with this forum.
I’m moving your question to the Windows forum because your problem seems more like a functionality issue or something of that sort rather than a graphics or image editing issue.

    Luke.

So I am waiting for someone to encounter the same problem and help me out.

The "multiplication" wouldn’t be photos like "copy of xxx.jpg"???

Yes, it's also when I want to copy/paste, but not always.
Some multiply, even if I haven't opened or consulted them.

It's because you're clicking and moving too quickly while copying and pasting, I've experienced this before.
The mistake is "human" and not computer-related.

      Can you tell me more?
Because as I told you, it's not just when I do this copy/paste manipulation. I almost feel like just going to the page multiplies them once already.

Some, that I haven't even touched, have doubled or even tripled when I go back to the photo gallery a second time.

In any case, thank you for your interest in my problem.

Personally, as I said, it's a synchronization issue between click/move/ctrl key
if you do it wrong or too quickly, the photo(s) end up in "copy of..." in the original folder, but it doesn't prevent the copy later in another folder.

To delete duplicates, you sort the folder by name, click on the first "copy of..." while holding the shift key (up arrow) and then click on the last "copy of..." and then delete.
