Hello,
I would like to purchase a new laptop and I need "objective" opinions, so to speak.
I'm still undecided about the brand between HP and MSI (considering I have a desktop PC and haven't had any problems with it so far), so I would like your opinions on these two brands, which is the "best"?
(P.S.: Please don't suggest talking about other brands, thank you).
Thank you in advance.
Best regards
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.13

Hi,
HP: Assembler, components with mediocre quality and only manufactured for them, terrible after-sales service as you said.. But very attractive prices :/
MSI: Manufacturer, good quality components, good value for money, reliable and competent after-sales service..
In conclusion, even if on paper both computers have almost identical configurations, with your usage I give +1 to MSI..
The GT 425M or the HD 5650 will allow you to run games "correctly" in my humble opinion..

"HP: Assembler, components with mediocre quality and exclusively made for them, terrible customer service as you mentioned.. But very attractive prices :/"
Other than the motherboards which are manufactured to specifications by motherboard manufacturers, can you tell me what other components of a laptop are exclusively made for HP? -

You can have preferences, but don't say just anything (one could believe you lol!). The only difference is that MSI is a motherboard manufacturer, so it can make its own motherboards. But for other components, MSI and HP source from the market. HP does not use CPUs made for them, but CPUs from the market made by Intel or AMD, hard drives made by Seagate or other hard drive manufacturers, RAM made by RAM manufacturers, chipsets or graphics cards made by Intel, NVIDIA or AMD, etc. The same goes for MSI.

Hello,
Start by telling us what you want to do with it and what your budget is.
“I want a car, Volkswagen or Skoda”… doesn’t tell us much xD The same goes for computers ;)

Ah, excuse me; I completely forgot to specify their use and to include the links to the two laptops I found, so here they are:
https://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00109974.html
https://www.pixmania.com/
The use would be more for entertainment (videos, recent games,...) and a bit of work :) .
The question I am mainly asking myself is about the brands. I don't know much about MSI, so I have no idea if it's reliable (I've read some reviews here, but they are mixed). As for HP, I've read that the customer service is terrible and that the PCs often break down (especially after the warranty), knowing that I have an HP desktop for 2 years and I haven't had any problems so far.
My budget would be between 600 and 700, I know that's not much and that it's difficult to find a good laptop in that price range...
Thank you in advance
Best regards
