PS3 won't turn on: only red light. Solved

Question

Hello,

My PS3 won't turn on at all. The red light is on (power on), but pressing the power button does not make the console react.

If I press the Eject button, I hear beeping indicating there is no disc.

I haven't turned it on for 2 weeks, and it was working perfectly before.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Hello,

It's not a YLOD (at least I think) because I have no colored lights other than the red standby one, and when I try to start it, the console shows no reaction.

It doesn't turn on at all?? Try turning it on by pressing the PS button on the controller. -- GT5rs: The Racing Spirit (Playseat + DFGT)

Try turning it on with the controller button or by inserting a disc. If that doesn't work, turn off your PS3 using the button at the back, unplug your cables, and clean off the dust.

What version is your console?
