Hello,
I recently reinstalled my PC and restored my files that I had backed up on an external hard drive.
Anyway, now that I have moved my important files into another folder, I would like to completely delete the "System Recovery files" folder created by the restore, which only contains my old programs (that take up a lot of space and are now useless to me).
I have tried several times to delete it (by right-clicking on System Recovery files and deleting) but it is impossible because I don't have permission, I think.
So, what should I do?
Thank you.
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.13

Right-click then properties -- security -- advanced -- owner and set yourself as the owner and double-check that you have full control.

Hello,
You need to give yourself access, right-click on the file, properties, security then modify, add, there you put your username and grant yourself full control
Best regards

Hello.
There is a simpler way, which is to use a utility called Unlocker
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/22737-unlocker/
Once installed, it will integrate into the context menu, which means
that by right-clicking on a folder or file, you will have the
option to delete or rename them despite the restrictions.

Hello,
following a data recovery via a backup made with HP Recovery Manager, I was unable to delete the System Recovery Files folder located on drive C, even after taking ownership of the folder and granting myself all rights (Full Control).
I finally downloaded Unlocker version 1.9.2, the antivirus MSE found nothing, I opened Unlocker and was able to delete System Recovery Files without any issues, both on drive C and on my external hard drive (copies made by the automatic backup).
Thank you for this advice.
