Hello or good evening everyone!
I have the game GTA San Andreas and I thought, "Why not try this famous SAMP?". I downloaded it, installed it, and launched it, so far so good. I'm on the interface that allows me to choose the server, and when I finally found a server, I chose to connect to it. An image appears "San Andreas Multiplayer" and then reappears with the loading bar at the bottom left.
The bar starts to load, and then almost at the end, the software quits and leaves me with a window titled "SA:MP An exception occurred" with the following error message:
"SA:MP has crashed. The error report has been generated below." etc...
The rest of this message translates into hexadecimal values.
I am posting on this forum as I have not found an answer to my question that can resolve this issue.
The version of GTA SA that I installed is indeed 1.00 (not 1.01 or 2.00)
I have already tried based on my research:
- Running SAMP as administrator (also for GTA SA)
- Running SAMP in compatibility mode XP SP2 (also for GTA SA)
- Restarting SAMP
- Reinstalling SAMP
- Completely reinstalling GTA SA and SAMP
- Deleting the 'gta_sa.set' file
But nothing works. Is there a way to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Configuration: Windows 7 32bit

I found a solution on the SAMP forum:
https://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=103182
Actually, you need to rename your GTA San Andreas folder in Program Files.
For example, instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\
you rename the GTA San Andreas folder to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas 2\
Then, you launch SAMP (if it's a shortcut, don't forget to modify the target), you start a server, and it will give you an error message saying it can't find gta_sa.exe (which is normal since we renamed the folder), and it will open a window for you to specify the GTA SA folder, you point it to the renamed folder.
And then it works :) !
Now, I don't actually remember SAMP asking me to specify the GTA SA folder during installation.
I hope this solution works for you too.

I have exactly the same problem!
I've also tried everything.
I have Windows 7 64bits.
I don't know about you, but for me, the first few times I try to install SAMP, I get the Windows message saying it may not have been installed correctly, so I choose the first option (1st: reinstall, 2nd: "No, it's installed correctly"), and after 2 or 3 times I no longer get the message and SAMP is supposed to be installed correctly. Maybe that's where the problem lies.
But I've tried re-downloading SAMP, installing in admin mode, I've checked all the compatibility boxes and everything, but it's always the same, SAMP crashes about three-quarters of the way through loading.
I should specify that GTA SA works very well in solo.

Have you correctly placed the SAMP in your Rockstar Games folder?
Did you add anything? Character skins, roads, vehicle patterns?

you need to have version 1.00 AND NOT 1.01 (and if I've ever had the same problem) and one more thing, never start a new game!!!
Hello
I'm having a problem when I want to connect to a server. I have version 0.3c with patch 1.01 EU, and when I click on "connect," a message pops up asking me to reinstall GTA SAMP. I don't understand anything at all; if you can help me
Thank you very much

Great, thanks! Now SAMP is launching on the servers!! I’m facing another issue that seems less serious. When I connect to one of the servers, it says "rejected" because I supposedly don't have the right version (I don't know which one), so if you can help me with this little problem, I’m interested. In the meantime, I'm looking for a solution online; I haven’t had much time to search yet. If I find anything, I’ll post the link in this topic!
Best regards,
Best regards,
For those who, when they launch SAMP, it launches GTA instead, simply delete and reinstall SAMP, that's all. (and make sure to place it properly)
Here is my problem:
I installed GTA SA and SAMP yesterday, I played a game, it was working super well, and now every time I launch a server, when I click connect, it says: An exception occurred
I don't understand anything, there are lots of numbers and everything, and all I know is that I uninstalled everything, reinstalled everything (several times) and nothing changes, please help me.
