To change the desktop font color from white with shadow to black (for those with a predominantly white wallpaper), you need to:
1 - choose white as the desktop color
right-click on the desktop -> properties -> desktop -> white color
2 - remove the shadows from the desktop fonts
control panel -> system -> advanced -> performance settings -> custom settings: uncheck use shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
and the desktop font turns cleanly to black
It's not obvious, we can see here all the clarity of Microsoft ;)
