Shadowed font under desktop icons

Hello, excuse me, I couldn't find where this small problem could have been addressed...
Under the icons on my ASUS-S6 laptop desktop,
the fonts are written in white on a blue background
but the characters are heavily shadowed in black
which makes reading difficult
In Display Properties, there is indeed a button for Effects and Hide shadow
but it's under the menu windows
Who can give me the scoop?

Good evening Gil,
Right-click on My Computer, properties or control panel, system, advanced tab, click --> on settings in performance, in the box check them all, at the top check: let Windows choose what's best for my computer, apply, OK and OK. Then, right-click on the desktop, properties, desktop tab, click on --> desktop customization, web tab, make sure everything is unchecked, OK, apply and OK.
