Hello,
I don't have an HDMI port on my "HP" laptop; is there another solution to connect it to my plasma screen?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, there are adapters. What outputs do you have on your PC?

Yes, but the simplest option is still a DVI male to HDMI female adapter ;)

Let's say that both adapters are possible, it depends on where you plug it in, based on the cables you already have:
if you already have a male-to-male HDMI cable, you need to buy the second adapter and plug it into the PC;
if you already have a male-to-male DVI cable, you need to buy the first adapter and plug it into the TV
For your question about VGA to HDMI, there's no simple solution, you can read:

yes, if it is DVI-I or D, because a digital output is mandatory, HDMI being a completely digital standard, there are no solutions with analog (DVI-A or VGA)
-
In that case, why are they releasing VGA => HDMI adapters?

Hello,
the HDMI standard is fully digital, so you need a DVI-D or I output
(not A) on your PC, with a DVI-D to HDMI adapter, like this one:

but if you only have a VGA (analog) output, I don't see a simple solution. -
There is no simple VGA->HDMI adapter, you need an analog-to-digital converter
