Hello,
Hello,

Hello, I bought a Nokia C3 because it has a wifi connection. The wifi connects well, but as soon as I want to use any internet function, EDGE takes over, which uses my credit. I tried without the SIM card and wifi and the internet works perfectly.

So I would like to know how to go online with wifi without going through EDGE??

I'm starting to get fed up! Please help me

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello

I had exactly the same problem as you, and after searching and tearing my hair out, I found a solution on a forum in English. Apparently, many people have this issue with the C3.

First, I returned to the original settings: Menu/Settings/Default Settings/Personal Settings. The default security code is 12345

After that, go to Menu/Settings/Configuration/Personal Settings/Option/Add New/Internet
You need to activate "My Internet"

Then Menu/Internet/Internet Settings/Configuration Settings/Personal Configuration

And now it asks you every time if you want to use Wi-Fi or GPRS to connect.

Comment se connecter à un réseau Wi-Fi avec le Nokia C3 ? J'ai suivi la méthode décrite au début du sujet, mais il n'y a pas d'option de paramètres Internet dans le menu Internet... Que faire ? Aidez-moi !

I FINALLY solved the connection problem in Edge on the Nokia C3. Indeed, when connecting via Wi-Fi with this phone, it has the annoying habit of connecting in Edge and therefore to Orange World, resulting in a huge increase in my plan!! Not to mention the risk of automatically connecting in Edge without even using the phone!! (This has happened to me before)
Here’s the manipulation:
In "Settings" then "Default config. settings," set "Personal config" and not "Orange."
In "Preferred access point," set "My access point" and not "Orange world."
Result: when, for example, you download an app via "Stores" then "Store" via Wi-Fi (and not Orange world), the application downloads without any problem but you receive the error message "Sign up for the packet data service" (with the E in a square appearing at the top left of the phone screen). It’s normal, it’s just that Edge cannot be activated, so everything is fine...

Hello,
I bought a Nokia C3. No problem for it to connect to my Wifi, but when I try to go to my Communities or MSN, the following error message appears: "communication error - Please try again later." But it never works
I hope someone can help me
Thank you!

First of all, thanks for responding, but I am with Bouygues on a pay-as-you-go plan; I don't normally have a subscription. When I connect to my home Wi-Fi with my phone, I should be able to access the internet without using my credit, but right now that's not the case because when I connect to Wi-Fi and try to access the internet, it goes through Edge, which uses up all my credit!
Did you understand??

My phone has Wi-Fi, and when I connect without my SIM card to Wi-Fi, I can access the internet perfectly without using the regular edge, since there's no SIM!
However, with the SIM card, when I connect to Wi-Fi and want to go online, it goes through edge, so in the end, I have no credit left :(
So what I want is to access the internet for free using the Wi-Fi connection.

You didn't read what I wrote properly, it's forbidden to use wifi on a mobile, it’s only for your PC.
To have unlimited internet on your mobile get the Web/mail plan from Bouyguestelecom, it costs 9.90/month, just two packs of cigarettes,
and you’ll be able to send your photos, your videos, your links, emails (and no more texts) to all your friends, you can chat with them on eBuddy for instance, it’s really free, I guarantee it’s what I have.
And above all stop talking about wifi, it has nothing to do with this, there you go, you know everything, your turn to play @+

but you're really saying anything, of course Wi-Fi exists on mobile devices and it's legal! I think you're a few years behind on smartphones!
get with the times.

Hey little one, before you give me any advice, review your work, okay? If I say it's illegal, then it's illegal. The Wi-Fi, as you say, is just to connect your computer to your box, period. If you connect with your phone to a Wi-Fi, I don't see what it would serve you, since you need a plan. Ask your operator after all, if you know why you're asking.
Hi, figure it out on your own, after all.

At the same time, with or without your advice, it's not getting me anywhere!
Come on, go find out about the wifi connection before wanting to help others!
See you, but thanks anyway for responding! :)

hi
to disable T9 mode:
I go to messaging, then create a message, then options, then others, then text input settings and disable it.
good luck

But my new problem is that I have Wi-Fi at our house and my C3 doesn't detect it, unlike my sister's Nokia N71 which works very well and the E66 also works well with Wi-Fi... :p So what should I do??

Impeccable, it worked for me too, but I have a question. If my phone is still set to Wi-Fi, when I use the "communities" or "mail" app, will it drain my credit or does the Wi-Fi handle those connections as well?

Louis

It's the internet connection that will take over and will deduct credits from you! For example, to go on Facebook, open the browser, choose the Wi-Fi connection, then go to Google and then to Facebook!

In the Wi-Fi settings, there is an option
INTERNET CONNECTION and you will have to select ask first.

A big thank you Druide56300, thanks to you I was able to solve my problem.

For those who are with Proximus, to disable the web, there are 2 tasks to complete.

The first is to contact Proximus to have them disable the option on your SIM card.
The second is to go to the website proximus.be/aidegsm:
- choose Nokia, the brand of your mobile
- follow the instructions "manual connection" and at the end of the process, remove the .be from internet.proximus.be
- then I followed Druide's instructions for Wi-Fi connection issues and now everything works.

There you go, I hope I have helped some people. I suppose the procedure is the same for other operators.

Hello,
I have roughly the same problem but with the C3 01. However, when I want to go online, it asks me whether I want to choose Swisscom PS or my Wi-Fi (the name of my Wi-Fi), and when I select it, it says "Link not available. Please try again." Moreover, the Wi-Fi works perfectly because when I go to Menu/Settings/Connectivity/WLAN/Available Wi-Fi and connect, it connects just fine. Even when I go next to the modem, it still says "Link not available. Please try again." And when I go on WhatsApp (a new application available on the OVI Store), I can't connect, and it doesn't ask me whether I want to choose Swisscom or my Wi-Fi; instead, a small E surrounded by a square appears at the top of the screen, and it consumes all my credit.
Please help me, I'm about to lose it.
P.S.
If anyone knows an application for transferring music or files from Mac OS X to my Nokia C3 01, I thank you in advance.
