PC powers on and off immediately. Solved

Question

Hello,
I've been having a big problem for 2 days.
When I turn on my PC, it shuts down immediately at startup.
What is happening?

P.S: One day before, I was infected with the Think Point virus. I normally removed it. Is there a connection with my PC issue???

The power light comes on for a split second, right?
If that's the case, and the fans don't start, and the screen stays in sleep mode, ... then there's a good chance it's the power supply. Do you have another one to swap out and see if that works?

It's the two that are turning off (screen + PC).

So you need to try to check the hardware; it's the processor that tells the PC to shut down. It might be an immediate overheating issue or a power supply overvoltage. Try unplugging the power connector after turning off the power, of course, and reconnect it after 1 minute. Maybe you have static electricity that hasn't dissipated... to be continued.

Hi,

Most of the time, a PC that only turns on for a fraction of a second, as Alexmothe93 says, either means your power supply has gone to the other side (rest in peace...) or the power cord connecting your power supply to the outlet (I've seen that case before.)
So yeah, you should find another power cable, that's easy to find, but getting another power supply is less easy to borrow...

The solution seems strange to me; if it keeps shutting down between the loading page and the login page, unless that's not the case...  Remember to mark the topic as resolved ;-)
