Hello
I'm using Word 2003 and I would like to know if it is possible to set footnotes in two columns because I have quite a lot of notes, but my notes area would take up less space if I put them in two columns.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how to do it?
Thank you very much!!!
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.5.13

The response comes a bit late, but it could still help other research on the subject.
In the REFERENCES tab -> Open the footnote options window -> There you can choose the number of columns for the footnotes. -
Hello Pwyll
The notes will be in columns if the text (with the footnote references) is in columns.
...but I seriously doubt that you will gain in space, let alone in readability

Ah, shit. Well, reading fluidity, I think so, because when at least a third of the page is taken up by footnotes, it's not great... there it's neither fluid nor aesthetic...
I have books with footnotes in 2 columns, it's very good, too bad that with Word it's not possible then :-(
Thank you for your response... -
Yes, but Word is just a word processing software, not a DTP software for publishers and printers!
