AutoCAD French Shortcuts

Solved/Closed

Hello!
I have a problem with AutoCAD: I learned to use it in English, and now I'm using a French version. Is it possible to get the French shortcuts for the basic operations (offset, trim, extend, etc...)?
Furthermore, I no longer know how to choose the snap points, which corresponded to the "snap" in English.
Could you please give me a little help?
Thank you in advance.

    hello

    some of the shortcuts I know for AutoCAD

    L=line
    I=Insert
    DP=move
    DO=right
    CP=copy
    DC=offset
    _spline=spline
    _pline=polyline
    fpoly=allows you to create the polyline of a contour
    B=create block for the current drawing
    wbloc=create block in a file
    Aj=adjust
    OP=option
    PR=properties on AutoCAD LT otherwise it's extend
    MI=mirror
    Ri=rotate
    E=stretch
    EH=scale
    A=arc
    C=circle
    RC=rectangle
    fmult=to create windows in presentation pages

    for object snaps

    to activate or deactivate them use the F3 key

    to call a type of snap type the first three letters of it
    example perpendicular=PER
    CEN=center of the circle
    NOD=to snap to a point
    mid=MID

    to activate ortho or deactivate it use the F8 key
    the F1 key is help
    the F2 key is the list
    the F4 key is the tablet

    when you right-click on acrobj you get the symbols and what they correspond to, which allows you to snap to the autosnap point of the line or other.

    hoping I have answered your questions well, bye

      It is enough to write the command in English preceded by an "underscore" (_)
      ex: _copy = copy

      Bonjour, je regarde des vidéos d'aide en anglais, et ils parlent de l'alias TK, qui permet de créer une ligne de construction, qui est utilisée pour déterminer des points grâce à la distance par rapport à d'autres objets. Cette ligne est fictive, et s'efface automatiquement.
      En anglais, ça s'appelle Temporary Tracking. Savez-vous comment s'appelle cette fonction en français, et quel est le raccourci alias ? Merci d'avance.

    ; Parameter file for the AutoCAD 2007 program
    ; Definitions of command aliases and external commands

    ; Copyright (C) 1997-2006 by Autodesk, Inc.

    ; Each time a new or previously created file is opened, AutoCAD searches for the support path and reads the first
    ; acad.pgp file it detects.

    ; -- External commands --
    ; When AutoCAD is launched, you can call other programs or utilities
    ; such as applications, utilities, and Windows system commands.
    ; You can define external commands by specifying the command name to use from
    ; the AutoCAD command line and the executable command string to be passed to the operating system.

    ; -- Command aliases --
    ; The Command alias section of this file contains the default settings for
    ; AutoCAD command shortcuts. Note: it is not recommended to modify
    ; this section of the PGP file directly, as migrating the changes you make
    ; will not be done properly when upgrading your AutoCAD product
    ; to a later version. Instead, modify the new section
    ; User-defined command aliases
    ; at the end of this file.

    ; -- User-defined command aliases --
    ; You can create abbreviations for the most frequently used AutoCAD commands by
    ; defining aliases in the User-defined command alias section
    ; of the acad.pgp file. You may create an alias for any AutoCAD command,
    ; device manager command, or external command.

    ; Recommendation: create a backup copy of this file before modifying it. To
    ; ensure that the migration of changes made to the PGP settings occurs correctly
    ; when upgrading to a later version of AutoCAD, it is advisable to modify
    ; the default settings in the User-defined command alias section
    ; at the end of this file.

    ; External command format:
    ; <Command name>,[<Shell request>],<Bit indicator>,[*]<Prompt>,

    ; The bits of the indicators mean:
    ; Bit 1: if set, does not wait for the application to close
    ; Bit 2: if set, launches the application in a minimized window
    ; Bit 4: if set, launches and hides the application
    ; Bit 8: if set, puts the argument string in quotes
    ;
    ; Complete the "Bit indicator" field with the sum of the selected bits.
    ; Bits 2 and 4 mutually exclude each other; when both are set, only bit 2 is used.
    ; The most commonly used values are generally 0
    ; (launches the application and waits for it to finish), 1 (launches the application and does not wait), 3 (opens in a
    ; minimized window and does not wait), and 5 (hides the application and does not wait). It is generally preferable not to use
    ; values 2 and 4. They indeed prevent the use of AutoCAD until the application is finished.

    ; Bit 8 allows commands such as DEL to function correctly with file names
    ; containing spaces, "long filename.dwg" for example. Note that this will impact the transmission to
    ; these same commands of lists of file names delimited by spaces.
    ; If you want multi-file support to use long file names, disable the "8" bit
    ; of these commands.

    ; Examples of external commands for command windows

    DEL, DEL, 8,File to delete: ,
    DIR, DIR, 8,File specification: ,
    SH, , 1,*SE Command: ,
    SHELL, , 1,*SE Command: ,
    START, START, 1,*Application to start: ,
    TYPE, TYPE, 8,File to list: ,

    ; Examples of external commands for Windows
    ; For another method, refer also to the AutoLISP function (STARTAPP).

    EXPLORER, START EXPLORER, 1,,
    NOTEPAD, START NOTEPAD, 1,*File to edit: ,
    PBRUSH, START PBRUSH, 1,,

    ; Command alias format:
    ; <Alias>,*<Full command name>

    ; Here are some recommendations for creating command aliases.
    ; 1. An alias should reduce the length of a command by at least two characters.
    ; There is no need to define an alias for commands associated with
    ; a control key, a status bar button, or a function key.
    ; Examples: Ctrl N, O, P, and S for New, Open, Print, Save.
    ; 2. Choose the first character of the command, then the first two,
    ; then the first three.
    ; 3. Once an alias is defined, create related aliases by adding a suffix:
    ; Examples: R for REDRAW, RE for REDRAWALL, L for LINE, LT for LINETYPE.
    ; 4. Use a hyphen to distinguish command-line commands from dialog box commands.
    ; Example: B for Block, -B for -Block.

    ; Exceptions to these rules include, in particular, AI for AREA, T for TEXTMULT, DE for DECOMPOSE.

    ; -- Examples of aliases for AutoCAD commands --
    ; These examples include the most frequently used commands. NOTE: to ensure that migration
    ; of your customization information is done correctly when upgrading to the
    ; later version of AutoCAD, it is not recommended to modify this section of the PGP file. The aliases listed
    ; in this section are included in the User-defined command alias section at the end of this file.
    ; You can safely modify this section to ensure the correct migration of your changes.

      Bonjour monsieur
      Merci beaucoup, beaucoup pour toutes vos informations............
      J’aimerais juste savoir quelle est la traduction de la commande anglaise (Overkill) en français. J'ai besoin de cette commande et comme mon AutoCAD est en français, je n'arrive pas à la trouver.
      Merci d'avance.

    I forgot two or three useful shortcuts

    for multiline text type = mtext

    to edit text = ed

    to create simple linear dimensions = li

    to copy properties use _matchprop

    to extend you need to use the adjust shortcut which is = aj

    then you need to select the line you want to go to, then validate by pressing shift (the key above ctrl)
    click on the line to extend

    CU=cut
    xref = external reference
    im = image

    for hatching the simplest method I've found is to do alt,d,h

    if you're on AutoCAD 3D

    pr = extend

    you also have ES = to extrude

    3O= for 3D orbit

    well I think I've covered everything I know about shortcuts

    Hello,

    you can customize AutoCAD shortcuts by modifying the "acad.pgp" or "adaclt.pgp" file in Windows Notepad. To get the shortcuts in English, simply copy and paste the content of the English acad(lt).pgp file into the French version. You can also modify them according to your wishes.

    For version 2005, I believe you need to search for the file on the disk, for later versions, just go to >tools>customize>modify program settings (acad.pgp)

    Hello RARA,
    if you can't install the licensed version, you first need to save the file with the .DXF extension and then close, open, and save it again in DWG format, and it will work.

      As far as I know, there is no way to remove the "educational version" tag from a drawing (if it could be removed, what would be its purpose?). Moreover, to my knowledge, as soon as you copy an element from a drawing that bears the "educational version" stamp and paste it into another "normal" drawing, the stamp will be exported to the healthy drawing, which will also be irreversibly stamped.

    Hello, I’ve been using AutoCAD since version 98, so here are some shortcuts:

    mi: mirror
    ri: rotate
    rd: fillet
    l: line
    cota: aligned dimension
    rec: rectangle
    c: circle
    do: line
    div: divide a line
    po: polyline
    h: hatching
    t: multiline text
    aj: adjust
    pr: extend
    z: zoom
    re: array
    opt: option
    ef: erase
    e: stretch
    b: block
    i: insert
    ctrl + 1: property
    ctrl + 8: calculator
    ctrl + 0: clean screen
    cotang: angular dimension
    cotrap: quick dimension
    cotlin: linear dimension
    F2: displays all recent actions in another window
    F8: ortho
    cor: layer matching
    F3: object snap

    These are just some of the most used ones, but Autodesk has implemented a routine in AutoCAD, if you put "_" before the name of a command in English, it works on the French version of AutoCAD, e.g., _layer = calque and it opens the layer management window
    If you look closely, you will see that if you click on an icon in the object space, it shows the name in English in the list of your actions.

    It is not possible in AutoCAD to perform this kind of operations, at least to my knowledge.

      Hi Mimi!
      I don’t know what version of AutoCAD you have, but I use 2006 and I’m not sure if the installation procedures are the same for other versions.
      To install version 2006, open your installation CD, then open the Setup file and follow the installation instructions. Once your software is installed, you need to activate the product (if not, you won't have access to the software). Therefore, you need the activation code. To obtain the activation code, just know your serial number, which should be displayed at the top of the AutoCAD welcome menu where it asks you to register the product. (If you don’t have the serial number, try this: 191 75444444, for version 2006 of course).
      On your CD, open the respective folder and the file named << Keygen >>. When you open the Keygen file, a window will appear, copy the serial number and paste it into the << Request Code >> part of the Keygen, then click on the << Generate >> button, and the activation code will be generated automatically. Copy it and paste it into the AutoCAD welcome menu in the << enter an activation code >> section. Then select your country or region and click on next, your product will be registered without any problems.

      See you!

      Hello, just so you know, when we start using a "Keygen," we are PIRATING the software, and I will be careful not to shout it from the rooftops, especially when we know the price of AutoCAD (around €3500 for a full version). So BE CAREFUL...

    Hello everyone,

    I use AutoCAD from time to time and I don't know all the functions yet.
    I would like to know if we can create assemblies (add constraints, coincidence, concentricity...) like in other software such as CATIA, Inventor...

    Thank you in advance??

    I have a problem with a site plan in AutoCAD format, I can't copy and paste within the same file and between this file and another. Thank you in advance for answering my question.

      Hello Bouchra, (which version are you on?)

      I sometimes have the same problem; apparently, it would be an issue with handwriting recognition from one version to another (basically a conflict, but I don't know much more).
      However, I found an alternative, I don't know if it will help you, but if you have a more recent version of AutoCAD than the one you’re working with, you should try it out. Once you've done your copy/pastes, you can save them in an earlier version if needed.

      I'm repeating myself, it's an alternative (that works for me, but obviously, it requires having recent versions).

      If you find a more suitable solution, feel free to let me know, I'm all ears :o)

      Good luck!

      P.S: do a purge of the drawing (command: PURGE, you never know ;o) )

      Hello,
      uh... the copy-paste command is not recommended in AutoCAD
      there are the move and copy tools that are more than enough.
      To switch from one file to another, we use the wblock command.
      With these three commands, you'll never have a problem.

      Hello,
      I'm looking for a "*.pgp" file instead
      I think it's called aclt.pgp in AutoCAD LT
      Keep us updated.

      Hello,

      in ACAD 2006, you need to edit the acad.pgp directly via AutoCAD.

      In the "tools" menu, click on "customize" and then "Edit program parameters (acad.pgp)"
      AutoCAD will open the file directly in a mini text editor.

      You need to restart the program for the changes to take effect.
