Hello,
I would like to host some evening performances. I've made my own light shows, my rigs, and all I need now is the sound system. As my budget is quite tight, I've settled on a particular setup. It's an Ibiza 1600W amplifier http://www.electrodepot.fr/... and two Ibiza 350W speakers http://www.electrodepot.fr/... . I'm having a hard time figuring out what the actual power output of this setup will be and I would like to know if it would be sufficient for a room of 150 people.
Thank you
Best regards, Guillaume

It's not worth anything, Ibiza. The "db" output is very low, the highs are shrill... in short, it's crap.
Good cheap gear:
Take two amplifiers like this one:
https://www.thomann.de/fr/the_tamp_e800.htm
This amplifier can be expensive but is powerful enough for this selection. It can produce more power than the speakers will require; for example, the amplifier intended for stereo will provide 2x120w rms at 8 ohms, which means a reserve gain of 20w rms for potential spl during big events, and the amplifier that will be connected in mono to the subwoofer will deliver 400w rms at 8 ohms (preferably half gain for a single sub).
Two speakers like this one:
http://www.thomann.de/fr/peavey_pvi_115.htm
A particularly interesting speaker due to its price but even more so for its frequency range, reproducing punchy lows from 60hz, a very wide midrange between 150-3500hz, and highs up to 20khz, with an excellent average output of 98db and a max spl of 123db with only 100w rms, equipped with a 15" and a 1" horn.
A subwoofer:
http://www.thomann.de/fr/peavey_pv_118_sub.htm
An interesting subwoofer to add to this selection to support the lows and reproduce infras, also having a low output of 200w rms, equipped with an 18", with a wide frequency range filtered from 40 to 180hz specifically designed for low-frequency reproduction with a good average output of 95db.
This setup offers low power but high output; you can easily host an event for more than 200 people by elevating the speakers:
This stand can support 30kg, and each speaker weighs less than 20kg:

Honestly, I host parties using only Ibiza equipment and I haven’t had any problems; it works really well. I'm telling you the same, Guillaume, and I encourage you to buy Ibiza gear, it's great, you’ll see. And if you connect several Ibiza amplifiers, the sound will be twice as good. Good luck with your parties!

I agree with the review of the Ibiza speakers.. Really terrible stuff. I only mixed for one night with an Ibiza pack (someone lent it to me) and honestly the sound... really awful. Way too much harsh treble (even though I had a small mixer to adjust bass, mids, and treble, but nothing worked.. I'm looking into buying a pair of RCF speakers http://www.sonovente.com/r-c-f-art-312-mkiii-la-paire-p37267.html, if anyone has tested them I'd like to hear their opinions. And later buy a sub to reinforce it.
And I’ll add that I have an Ibiza AMP 1000 amplifier and 2 Madison brand speakers of 2 * 500 watts, the sound is impeccable.
I don’t know what you have with this brand, but frankly it’s still good equipment for those on a tight budget, and personally, not everyone can afford sound equipment whose prices are beyond our means.
After that, if there is maintenance, care, and respect for the safety instructions of the equipment, there shouldn't be any problems with the equipment.

Personally, I've been using an Ibiza sound pack for 4 years, I have 3 different brands of speakers, out of my 8 speakers, I use the Ibiza pack the most (the same one Alexx http://www.sono-energie.com/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=10959523) and I host parties for 200 people without any issue. Sometimes I bring my other speakers, my logo is painted on the grills, it just serves to look good, they are not even plugged in. That's more than enough, I don’t know what kind of parties you host, but you haven’t understood the audience then; they don’t care about having sound that makes you vibrate, that blasts your eardrums, that forces you to lean in to talk to someone else... Anyway, I’m often asked before the party not to play the music too loud like many other DJs.
And yes... with our professional speakers, saying "I have 2 active subwoofers 500wrms" the guests don’t care... Didn’t you get that? As long as the sound is satisfactory, the animation, the music, and the lights are good, you'll have great evenings :)
I had to spend 600 euros on my speakers and 2000 on lighting, 60w LED scanners, strobe lights, several lasers, contest mega, contest DMX table, LED projectors for decoration...
Vary the lighting effects, they'll be more delighted by that than your sound...
I say this from experience, no one has ever complained about my sound, I’ve surprised more than one by not plugging everything in.
After that, I met a DJ who charged 600€ a night, I asked him why use turntables if you're not mixing?
Yes, I only need a small dual turntable. (Most people who have big turntables don’t know how to use them properly... and make effects that are pointless and sometimes annoying (source: clients)
Anyway, this DJ replied to me, well I burn all my CDs, because thanks to the turntables I get the mp3s in 256 instead of 123 kbs. Let me laugh x) I download all my music in high quality, I convert them to mp3 at 320kbs... you just need a software, anyway, that's ignorance. For now, I’m having a lot of fun, I have many parties, I’m a student, and I’ve never worked in the summer, I earn more from parties, with my loyal associations I have parties all year despite my "shitty speakers" ;) in short, the sound at a party is just superficial, some have a great time with their ifi system.
Remember your goal => to make people dance :)
Have a good evening everyone.

I completely agree with you in saying that people don't care about the equipment you have, they're there to listen to music. During the aperitif, whatever music you play, they hardly listen to it, unless you really play something awful. At dinner, they don’t want to have a lot in their ears; they want to hear each other talk. We’ll only turn up the volume once the party is in full swing after dessert, and even then, if you're in a community hall, you have to keep the decibel level in check to avoid complaints from neighbors or having the police show up. At my parties, there’s all types of audiences, because at birthdays, weddings, people of all ages are gathered. If you turn the volume up too much, we’ll let you know. Yes, turn up the sound, but there’s no need for 1000-watt speakers for a room of 200 people; 400X2 is more than enough for me. Even playing hard rock, that’ll be enough to blast some ears. I’ve seen some people leave parties because they couldn’t talk to each other, due to not informing the DJ in advance... I also got the IBIZA 550 KIT, and it’s more than enough for this kind of party, unless you really have money to throw out the window. On the amplifier side, if you don’t keep an eye on the overheating indicators, don’t be surprised if it burns out!! I’ve also tried big brands, but with no better results, and frankly, I don’t care. A good party is about a good atmosphere, music that fits, good lights, some smoke, a few good lasers, and off you go... Have all the music choices, create your playlists with your providers, and in a few parties, you’ll have a good musical repertoire. Don’t be stubborn about only playing the music you like and imposing it. That’s it.
FADA-DJ, what do you use to convert your sound to 320 kbps, isn’t 320 too much?
Thanks for the information. P.S. you must be the only one listening to your audience among all those I see talking.

I'm not an animator or anything, but one of the big shared flats at my school used the 400W and 900W (the speaker-amplifier combo) from Ibiza.
Verdict: the 400W didn't last a 4-day weekend where it had to run 15-16 hours a day at medium volume or lower; it burnt out... The 900W let out a loud "boom" followed by a cloud of smoke during the JPO evening, and since then the tweeters have been shot.
All this to say that those who claim it's good gear really don't know what they're talking about or are just messing with people. And apart from their short lifespan, the sound is really subpar; it's barely fit to pump out watts, the sound distorts really quickly, and the highs are piercing... I agree that it's unnecessary to have audiophile speakers like B&W for parties, but for me, the Ibiza brand truly represents the entry-level brand that puts out a lot of noise but with terrible sound quality.

And then it’s enough to compare a big brand and a budget brand; in the end, the components are the same, they are all made in China. The only difference is that you pay for the brand. The more well-known and famous the brand is, the more expensive the equipment will be. I know what I'm talking about because I oversee a lot of sound equipment to ensure it meets French standards for sale. Also, saying that there is no protection in Ibiza amplifiers is FALSE; the protections are there, they work, but if you misuse them, it’s not surprising that they catch fire. Moreover, I also cite that I had a YAMAHA amplifier, which is a big brand, and that amplifier cost me over 700 euros. Yet during a party, there was a power outage that came back immediately, and the amplifier didn’t accept it, and no protection kicked in. The speaker outputs were completely fried, and it sent a bass tone that was too powerful into the speakers, causing the cones to detach from the frame. So even big brands have faults, not just budget brands.
Hello,
I bought Ibiza to try and see.
Ibiza is worse than Boost. Boost is already crap.
No protection on the amps, no filters on the speakers, low-quality components (if it breaks, it's normal). The microphones seem to be designed "haphazardly." CD players without perfect loops (therefore unusable), no MP3 playback.
The sound quality measured on the speakers is terrible.
All Ibiza devices are made quickly, haphazardly, with low-cost components or made with makeshift methods. I know what I'm talking about because I've disassembled and reassembled all their devices and especially because I'm qualified in maintenance for this type of equipment.
BRAND TO AVOID!!!!!! DO NOT BUY AT ALL!!!!! Otherwise, your investment will be lost shortly after.
If you invest in Ibiza, do so at your own risk!

A review about Ibiza.
CDX-200MP3 +AMP-300+Ibiza speaker (without reference).
I confirm the highs are terrible! and the bass is weak!
I use it for a 70 m2 dining room where 40 partygoers enter; personally, I switched to a cheap PC 5.1 kit that produces decent sound.
So here is my opinion on the equipment mentioned above, which is probably "the entry-level." In any case, I am put off by this brand!

I almost forgot!
If anyone has a nice setup suggestion for my dining room, I’m all ears!
On a small budget of course! It's for use 3 to 4 times a year.
Thanks in advance!
(iasca, I don't understand any of your calculations about dB and rms, etc., but your expert opinion should be able to find something for my room!)

Good evening everyone,
My neighbor just bought the DJ Pack Ibiza Sound because he is organizing a big party to celebrate a birthday. He asked for my opinion on the equipment.
Is it an anomaly or not: when the Line 1 button is pressed on the mixing table (mix-800), the speakers crackle and it’s inaudible. My neighbor tested with a USB stick on which tracks are recorded. Only Line 1, Line 2, and Stereo are connected to the amplifier. No CD player is connected.
I believe the speakers are the Ibiza Sound DJ Speakers 2x400 W model.
What are your expert opinions?

He is already starting to have trouble, soon it’s guaranteed to break down. The best thing is for him to get a refund while there’s still time and everything is working relatively well. He can use his laptop or desktop in connection with a T-amp amplifier and a pair of entry-level Gemini/Peavey speakers; it won't cost more but it will last a long, long time.
Hi, I have this DJ Ibiza Sound pack! It's great beginner equipment! Many say that Ibiza is worthless, but to say that, you have to take care of your gear and maintain it (in a rack)! At the same time, it's an amplifier that isn't very powerful, but it can be a good investment for powered speakers or passive speakers to complement your setup!
I have been using an Ibiza amp 1000 with sound projectors for 8 years
over more than 500 meters of sound reinforcement
it runs all weekend and it performs great, very good sturdy equipment.

Hello,
I am a guest on your forum, primarily out of curiosity; this topic particularly caught my attention. Let me introduce myself: I am 50 years old and I live in Val d'Oise.
I don’t really understand your discussions about the Ibiza equipment; I see there are pros and cons. I would like to share my personal opinion, knowing that I have hosted many parties with Marantz amplification and power mixing table speakers if I remember correctly (a few years ago, yes). I actually gave it all away a while back.
I am starting to host some parties again for family gatherings where we generally have between 80 and 120 people.
Not wanting to spend too much since it’s not regular, I opted for 2 Ibiza Sound Disco 15A speakers and two compatible stands.
For my first parties, I only had one speaker; I bought the second one for stereo sound, so I can give you my opinion on this equipment knowing what we want to do with it. My Marantz amplifier was of better quality for listening to Mozart or Kate Bush (for example) in terms of sound quality; that’s clear.
For dance or disco-type parties, these Ibiza speakers are very good, and we’re not listening to Mozart. I think we can agree on that; what people want is to dance without blowing out their eardrums.
No need for an amplifier; everything is integrated. I connect them to my laptop via the headphone jack output and use a split RCA cable to have stereo sound on my two speakers (one RCA per speaker). My PC software has a built-in mixing table; for this type of party, these speakers are very good, provided you feed them good audio sources—320k for me, at least 192, depending on how the encoding was done.
Do not turn the volume of the speakers all the way up; personally, I set it a notch above halfway and adjusted the bass and treble with a marker as a reference. Then I control the volume through my mixing table; I’ve never received complaints about my sound system—quite the contrary, and believe me, the sound is already way too loud with 2 speakers of this kind while maintaining a decent quality level for 120 people.
There are two built-in mic inputs with adjustable volume and echo, and finally, the price; I have to say, these two speakers cost me 280 euros new, delivered.
The weak points of these speakers for me are that the bass lacks depth and gets worse as you increase the volume (distortion). The 800 watts of power is certainly not delivered, but we still reach 106/110 decibels per speaker.
Personal conclusion: for people like me who host occasional parties, I can only recommend them for their quality-to-price ratio. Again, be careful with what you feed them; poor quality sound will come out badly with any equipment.
That’s it; I hope I haven't made it too long. My goal is to inform readers about these Ibiza Sound Disco 15A speakers.
Thank you and best wishes to your forum,
Touni

Hello everyone,
I bought a pair of Ibiza speakers two years ago to complete my sound system and to have speakers for small venues or for a party at friends' houses. They haven't been connected to my setup for more than 60 minutes. I wasn't expecting a miracle in terms of sound quality given the low price, but I certainly wasn't expecting something this bad! The sound from these speakers is simply horrible. Having a party with these is really a disservice to people and risks blowing out eardrums.
Specifically, there is a very pronounced attenuation in the mids and very unpleasant highs. The sound that comes out is very tinny and even of much lower quality than horn-loaded speakers.
I tried to improve the sound with an equalizer. No luck. I ultimately packed the speakers up and returned them to the seller. This is the only time I’ve returned functioning sound equipment simply because the sound these speakers produce is just horrendous for the ears. You really don’t have to be an audiophile to realize that.
When dismantling them, there isn't much to see! A woofer and a piezo tweeter (that's why the highs are terrible).
This is simply a product that should be taken off the market.
I bought speakers of the same power for double the price. Well, even if they aren't the best out there, they are much better than Ibiza.
When it comes to speakers, IBIZA is REALLY to be avoided from your list. The JB Systems are really much better.
The only possible use these have is for making presentations for product demos in a setting where the goal is not to create a HI-FI show but simply to have amplification to be heard.
As for the amplifiers and mixing consoles, I can't judge since I haven't tried them. But I seriously doubt that the quality will be there. In any case, friends who have used this brand reported that their amplifier burned out quite quickly without even exaggerating on the volume.
A brand to steer clear of.

Those planning to hold parties with more than 20 people are asked to change brands.
I can't believe that one setup (1 sub + 2 Ibiza sats) can deliver a high output.
Those who claim to hold parties in Ibiza (all night long, like from 6 PM to 7 AM continuously) are lying.
Just look at the ads for pro sound equipment: No Ibiza!

Ibiza, kool sound, BST, Elokance, wharfdale, and other Chinese brands are just big turds!!!
The boomers are cardboard, with no precision, nonexistent output, and zero dynamism!!! The amps are also crap!!! You should avoid these brands!!! And regarding the "morons" who want to sell you Ibiza, I would love to try their systems and compare them to db tech, RCF, JBL, EV, LD, APG, NEXO system, CERWIN VEGA,... I'm already laughing xdddddd!!!!

I'm new to the DJ scene, and I bought everything in Ibiza, double turntables plus the mixer, Ibiza night n light pack, a pair of 300w speakers, speaker stands, bubble machine, and I have NO problems, I'm only 15, so my budget was right, and I'm not disappointed, I EVEN RECOMMEND IT !!!
You can spend €6000, good for you, but don't show that mindset to people because we're not like you
Goodbye

Hello,
As they often say, there’s something for every budget.
If the equipment is suitable, that’s great.
But to recommend it? No, not at all.
The quality is below average, just like the sound.
Moreover, the power ratings are inflated by 2 or even 3 times.
It also depends on the style and the number of guests.
Because when I see that you say you bought an Ibiza Night N Light pack, well, it would barely suffice for a private party of 15 or 20 people.
But once again, depending on the use, yes; otherwise, to recommend it? No.
See you later!

Allow me to apologize, I made a mistake, I don't actually have the Ibiza, it's just the subwoofer, the two satellites are equipped (changed) with Eminence speakers of 250W rms, + change of passive filter + change of the compression driver (done by the previous owner), I only used the real Ibiza amplifier subwoofer, I have a sound processor, mixing console, I manage my sound quite well thanks to the limiter. I was talking to you about small parties of 150 to 200 people. I put not 600 € but 500 € for these 3 speakers (satellites 12" + subwoofer 15") but also 2 HK audio of 150 W RMS in 12".
I will come back to a few words...
Let's talk about the subwoofer, decent sound, easy to install, very light hence the fact that I use it for small parties, but otherwise I opened this amplifier subwoofer, to my great “surprise” or not, consisting of 2 small amplifiers, when I say small the amplifier must be smaller than the one from my car radio ;), there is no stereo separation, and... anyway it's pure basic, low-end. But sufficient for 150 people because when we say party of 150 people.
Otherwise, if you want my setup for big parties, 4 HK audio of 150W rms in 8", 4 Ohm in front each on a tripod, two amplifier subwoofers of "2000W rms" but it's only 1000W RMS in sound power I assure you, sellers like to play with the amplifier's power and not that of the speakers, (for a weight of 45 kg, on wheels).
Anyway, otherwise 2 HK audio of 150 Wrms on the ground in 12", and if the room is very large (people and +) I add the 2 speakers of 250 W rms in the middle of the room, I can put a delay but it doesn’t serve much. And I have a 250 W rms speaker in return, the subwoofer in 15" in the center. Otherwise, I have 3 E800 amplifiers (2 * 350 w in 8 Ohm and 2 * 500 in 4 Ohm) I put the speakers in 4 Ohm on a single amplifier 2 per output in series, for 2 * 4 = 8 Ohm and 300 W rms leaving me 50 W rms to not push it to the max. the rest is distributed over the other 2 amplifiers. Totaling around 4000W rms with a good distribution (12 speakers).
Lighting level:
4 scanners (2 more in June 2014 the SC-X50 MKII)
2 derby (mega contest)
green laser 30 mW / blue laser 400 mW
strobo 1500 W
2 smoke machines 1200W with 2 fans to circulate the smoke.
bubble machine, (that's low-end)
12 led projectors, (6 for wall lighting/ 6 on the bridge, including 2 of 14 * 5 W starway, and not stairville) yes in terms of lighting don’t go for low-end... led 100,000 hours but the components burn out after 2 - 3 years, I was given 2 Ibiza projectors by 64, both are burnt, one lasted 3 years the other 2...
After that, I have other lights that I rent... color changers, scanners without dmx, strobo 300W, led ball,...
Bridge of 4 meters rising to 3 m, max 100 Kg, I must be at 60 Kg and it is full... so 2 T tripods for other lights.
Programming in dmx on contest table, and a starway, soon by computer.
All in a nice rack :)
After 3000 lumen projector + screen, 2 long-range wireless microphones (+ of 100m), 2 wired microphones...
Regarding rates, I remain competitive:
300€ for birthdays and associations
450 to 550 for a wedding
500 € for a small student party, from 150 people supplement of 40€ for every extra 50 people
For 600 people I charge around 1000€
800 people around 1200€.

I am surprised by the comments saying that all Ibiza speakers are worthless.
Some entry-level models like the V8 VHF are not very performing, but their high-end speakers like the V15 UHF are powerful with good sound. Moreover, I am clearly not the only one who thinks so: Ibiza speaker: our opinion
I imagine that some have heard the sound of the V8 and generalized it to all Ibizas without having tested them.
