Hello,
I tried to turn on my PC this morning like I do every day, but I had to restart it four times before my session finally opened. The "Google gadgets" in the right sidebar are no longer displaying and are replaced by white squares.
I also can't connect to the internet.
I ran a full system scan with Norton Antivirus 2010, which did not detect anything. However, the little Norton icon on my taskbar shows "attention required." When I click on "fix," the screen displays Outgoing email: unresolved; Incoming email: unresolved.
I can't download any software since I no longer have an internet connection on my laptop.

Just click on it; Vista should take care of it.
Before that; disable User Account Control (you will reactivate it after your cleanup):

* Go to Start then Control Panel
* Double-click on the "User Accounts" icon
* Then click on disable and confirm.
