Toshiba Satellite W7 and WiFi Disabled

Hello,
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L505-10C a month ago.
OS: Windows 7 Home Edition.

I have a problem with the Wi-Fi card which seems to be disabled (or defective).
The issue arose after an IP address conflict on a Freebox, with two laptops. Coincidence or not?
After this event, no Wi-Fi card is detected anymore.
I have tried the following:

- Restarting several times.
- Checking the device manager where it no longer appears (I only have the LAN card).
- Using the TOSHIBA HW setup utility as indicated in some posts, to enable or disable the Wi-Fi card.
Apparently, unless I'm missing something, I don't have a "physical" switch for the Wi-Fi card as there was one on my old TOSHIBA Satellite M200.
However, I have an orange Wi-Fi indicator light, which now only turns on during boot, and turns off as soon as Windows 7 starts, and doesn't turn back on afterwards.

- I went into the BIOS, disabled and re-enabled the wireless card... nothing!

As Helmut Fritz would say, "It's annoying!"
Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Have you checked if there is a problem with the WIFI card driver on your laptop?

See you later

Hi. If there are no driver issues, you can also try the keyboard shortcut
FN+F8
it seems that this keyboard shortcut can also enable or disable the Wi-Fi card: http://media.ldlc.com/ld/products/00/00/74/35/LD0000743525_2.jpg

Hello and thank you very much for your responses.
The drivers are the default ones installed by Toshiba, and they have been working from the start.
My wifi card is apparently a REALTEK. The card is not visible in the Windows Device Manager, and in the case of a driver issue, it should appear, I think. Indeed, a FN+f8 shortcut would enable the card. But it doesn't work (I hadn't tested it before the problem).

Hello.
Could you please check if there is an option in your "Toshiba Hardware Setup" software to enable or disable your Wi-Fi card that might have been changed?

This software allows you to modify certain BIOS settings while remaining in Windows.
This could cause your Wi-Fi card not to appear in Windows if it is disabled in the BIOS.

Hello,
I didn't know that HARDWARE SETUP directly affects the BIOS, but I checked a second time and the Wi-Fi switch is indeed checked as "enabled."
I will run a live version of Linux from a USB stick to see if the card is defective or if it is recognized under Linux.
