Hello everyone, I need your help please.
I have a WORD file with quite a few email addresses, they are jumbled in the middle of the body of the text and I would like to extract these addresses automatically.
All the email addresses are in hyperlink format.
Please help me extract these emails.
Thank you very much.

Configuration: Windows XP Pro / AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ / RAM: 2GB / HDD: 320GB / Internet Explorer 8.0

    Hello,

Here is a very simple site to extract your email addresses from a Word file or another. You just have to copy and paste your file.

Great! They say "don't paste too many pages at once." But I tried pasting a 500-page Word document (copy/paste from an HTML), and it extracted nearly 1000 emails!

A small downside, however, the site reserves the right to use emails for commercial purposes... : "Cap'tain Extractor reserves the right to use the extracted emails for commercial purposes."

      Hello,

I'm quite late to the party, but I did arrive while doing my research here today, so if this happens to anyone else, here is the solution I found:

    Hello,

Here is an extremely simple solution:

    - Press Alt+F9 to display the fields
    - Ctrl + F to open the search box
    - Search: ^d hyperlink
    - Check "Highlight all found items..."
    - Click the Find All button
    - Close the dialog box
    - Ctrl + C to copy everything that is highlighted
    - Open a new doc and paste

Hello m@rina, thank you for your responsiveness.
Following the procedure, everything is going rather well by strictly following what is outlined below:
      - Press Alt+F9 to display the fields
      - Ctrl + F to open the search box
      - Search: ^d hyperlink
      - Check "Highlight all found items..."
      - Click on the Find All button
      - Close the dialog box.

But the rest of the procedure, that is to say:
      - Ctrl + C to copy everything that is highlighted
      - Open a new document and paste

is not working, because when I click Ctrl+C, nothing is selected, it is true that all the addresses are highlighted in yellow, but when I click Ctrl+C, nothing is selected and therefore, when opening a new page and clicking Ctrl+V, nothing is copied onto the new blank page, only the word "hypertext" is copied. :)

I am still waiting for help and thank you very much.

I am exactly in the same situation: highlighting works, but copy-paste doesn't work either. I am on Word 2007.
Does anyone have additional information to Marina's valuable insights?

Actually, I just solved the problem. The macro wasn't saved in the right place. It needs to be linked to the document and not to "normal".
Moreover, the ^d HYPERLINK does not extract everything.
      I used "mailto:

    Hello,

Do you have an older version of Word (97)?

If yes, the fields were then in French... Also, you need to change the name of the HYPERLINK field to French. By displaying the field codes using Alt+F9, you should see the name of the field.

In the new doc, you will need to press Alt+F9 again to see the text instead of the fields...

      Hello m@rina:
I have Office Pro 2007, by the way I should clarify, it is indeed "hyperlink" and not "hypertext," I apologize.
So, the problem I'm experiencing is that after using the alt+f9 command, the emails are highlighted in yellow, but when I try to use the ctrl+c command to copy all the emails that are highlighted in yellow, no emails get selected and therefore, no emails get copied onto the new blank page.
I don't know if it's possible for me to send you the file so you can check it yourself?!!

    Good evening darknesside,

Yes, the 2007/2010 search only highlights a color but does not select... So this method cannot work.

It requires a macro. I wrote one and posted it here:
    https://faqword.com/index.php/wfaq/champs/755-comment-extraire-toutes-les-adresses-mails-disperses-dans-un-document-.html

See, it's always important to specify your version.

Good evening M@rina, I didn't think it was important to specify the version of Office that I have.
But thanks to you, I'm correcting my gaps, thank you so much.
I read your previous message well, would you please guide me on how to add the macro in question? It's just that I'm not really skilled on the tech side.
How should I proceed to add it?
Should I copy the entire process?

    Hello
I have the same problem: extracting only the email addresses from my list of emails in MAC OS 10.6 from my address book. I can put these addresses in a field of an email, then copy them into a Word 2008 document.
After that, I don’t understand what fields are, and the alt F9 command doesn’t do anything...
    Thank you

    ALAS <alas@ath.forthnet.gr>
    Aliette Guibert-Certhoux <aguibert-certhoux@noos.fr>
    Alexine Boivin <alexine.boivin@free.fr>
    Chawla Art Gallery <chawla@chawla-artgallery.com>
etc... for 5000 addresses in my address book...
I am looking to have the list:

    alas@ath.forthnet.gr
    etc...

    But it's not working
