Hello,
I have a TI-82 calculator that won't turn on.
The batteries are new
I also tried increasing the brightness but to no avail...
Does anyone have a solution??
Best regards

I believe you have no choice, you have to take it to get repaired or buy another one, the ti's are the best
PS: I've never had this problem, but I think it comes from the inside or maybe a program, but that's very unlikely (you could check by clicking on "on," removing the batteries, putting them back, and seeing) when it happens to me with my ti 83+, I remove the batteries, wait, and put them back, and it works :D if it doesn't work, sorry, you have to go get it repaired in my opinion

Normally, by starting pretty point and then quitting it, you get lowercase letters by pressing ALPHA twice.
To mess up the inside of a calto, I don't know the codes at all, I only program in BASIC for now, and this type of program will probably not be welcome on sites like TI Bank. The best would be to start an ASM program (by copying an existing beginning for example) and not set exit conditions and other essential conditions (I read a tutorial on that a long time ago), and it should normally crash, but to achieve a complete crash that prevents the use of the TI, you have to go hard. -

Did you also change the flat battery?

Hi everyone, have you tried increasing the contrasts? Sometimes they are too low, and you might think the image is messed up when it's not.

Oh, in that case, I'm sorry if it was a problem related to a program... I could have helped you, but as soon as it becomes material, I step back.
P.S.: If you plan to change it, I recommend the 83+ to have plenty of functional programs because it’s old, still in service, and can contain quite a few programs for high school. If your budget allows, I would recommend a TI-89, which accepts many more programs for high school than the 83+. Finally, the best one that can follow you even in prep schools is the Nspire CAS: it's not easy to use at first, but you get used to it.
Personally, the calculator I prefer to use is the 83+ because although it's less powerful, it's simpler.
As for Casio, I'm not good at it, but what I do know is that the Graph 100 is pretty good, and the ClassPad 300 is equivalent to the TI-89 (except it has a touchscreen as an additional feature).

too bad, I also program only in BASIC but I would like to start using ASM, it’s much more powerful
without using pretty print, there is a method by writing an ASM program unfortunately I don't have the time right now to focus on ASM, I think I will learn Java but there we are really far from the topic :p

You're surprising me ^^.
Well, sorry Lucie, but you need to change your laptop, get a really powerful one and not ".fr" because if you want games and programs on the internet, most will be written with functions in English.-
xD The problem with programming languages is that they change too quickly. Just when I started with C, I don't know which language is now declared the best (g2u or I don't know what)
PS: I believe that programs on TI normal work in .fr but to program a simulator would be welcome, plus we can disable the French app :D

Yes, that's true, and that's a good thing! Plus, it sounds better with functions like "Scatter" and "Shade" rather than "Nuage" and "Ombre" xD

There are programs that uninstall the OS from your caltos, and in some cases, there's nothing you can do, even a reinstall won't work, but you really have to be unlucky!

In fact, the assembler can modify the (virtual) inside of the calculator: for example, it can make lowercase letters appear, or even create other excellent functions to derive and simplify a function (notably thanks to symbolic and pretty point). But when these programs are poorly made, they can crash everything, and sometimes it cannot be recovered due to the modification of this "virtual" inside of the calculator. Basically, you need to be really good at programming to venture into this without risking ruining your TI, which is where TI simulators for PC come in handy.

I know that Symbolic and Pretty Point usually work well, and even MirageOS is excellent, but sometimes it bugs (even for Symbolic), which leaves me either with a RAM cleared or a MEM cleared (I never understood why it exceeded the RAM and wiped all the memory, but anyway, simulators are meant to avoid having MEM cleared and not having to reinstall the OS...)
Please, how can I permanently destroy the insides of my calculator (TI-83+ that I love, but I could live without if it dies since there's now the Nspire CAS) by using only ASM
PS I wanted to ask you if you knew where I could download a program for Minuscule; I have the source code, but for downloading ASM programs on PC....
