Connection between my PC and the amplifier Solved

Good evening,

I would like to connect my PC to my amplifier to host an evening. Moreover, Windows Media Player seems quite good for organizing this.
How should I go about checking if the amplifier and the PC are compatible, and if so, what cable should I install?
I am also open to any advice you could give me.

Hello,

I'm currently renovating our apartment and I'm running ethernet cabling everywhere with RJ45 sockets (Class 3S cable and category 6A), in order to connect my PC in the office to my living room amplifier and thus play music and movies from my hard drive. Is this enough, or should I also plan for an optical audio connection and/or HDMI between these two points (there's almost 15 meters due to hallways/corners and I don't want to do it if it's unnecessary or redundant with the network cable).
