Hello everyone, I just bought a computer with Windows 7 and I wanted to use its keyboard with my old computer running XP, but this keyboard is not recognized by XP. Is there a solution, perhaps drivers? Who could help me, thanks in advance. I specify that the old XP keyboard was connected via the purple connector of the computer (sorry, but I don’t know what this connector is called) and the Windows 7 keyboard is connected via USB.

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

The old keyboard was therefore a PS2.

It's weird, since normally, a keyboard doesn't need to be installed. Especially with USB, you just plug it in, wait a few seconds, and it's good to go.

You can always look for drivers if it has special functions on the manufacturer's website.

What exactly is the error message when you plug it into the other PC?

I have no error messages, what do you mean by ps2? I am a novice in computing, and if you could give me the steps to follow for the drivers, it would help me. My computer is a HP 6335, thank you.

With a bit of delay, my keyboard problem is resolved without me knowing why. Thank you for your responses.
