Good evening,

How are you? I hope you are doing very well.

Here is my problem, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo LI 3910 laptop and for the past two days I haven't been able to turn it on. In fact, even with a boot (from the BIOS) or a restore... NOTHING :( It loads the files from the CD and loads Windows Vista and then crashes. A blue screen appears with a whole speech in English telling me to try rebooting from a backup and blah blah... I've already tried everything! Even the format option doesn't work... still the miserable blue screen!

A friend who is an IT technician (with not much experience since he is in his first year of apprenticeship) was willing to try some manipulations... without success. We checked the hard drive, the drive... everything is OK.

Do you have any idea where the error might be coming from?

    Maybe your CD is not good or your computer has a technical defect (faulty component...).

      You can possibly restore it without a CD

      Here is the procedure to restore a Fujitsu without a CD.


      1. Turn on your computer
      or: If the computer is already running, turn it off, wait a moment, and turn it back on.
      2. During boot-up, press the F8 key repeatedly until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. You may need to repeat this step until you can access the menu.
      3. In the "Advanced Boot Options" menu, you will be offered the "Repair your Computer" option. If it is not available, select "Repair your Computer" using the up/down arrow keys and confirm with the Enter key.
      4. Once Windows has loaded some files, the "System Recovery Options" will appear. Under "Select a language," choose your language, and under "Choose a keyboard layout," select the keyboard layout you are using. The language is usually recognized automatically by the system and grayed out. Click "Next."
      5. Under "User Name," type your username and "Password." The username is also offered in the dropdown menu accessible by clicking on the black triangle. If you have not set a password for the selected user, leave the "Password" field empty. Then click "OK."
      6. In the next "System Recovery Options" menu, select the "Fujitsu Siemens Computers Recovery" option and the related point "Easy backup and recovery of your system."
      7. Select "Restore factory default settings" and click "Next."
      8. In the "Restore factory default settings" menu, under "Select source," choose the "From hard disk (recommended)" option, and confirm with "Next."
      9. The following message alerts you that all data will be lost. Once this message is confirmed, your system will be restored. At the end of the restoration process, a completion message will be displayed.
      10. Select "Exit" to finish the process.
      11. In the next "System Recovery Options" menu, select "Restart."
      12. After restarting, you will need to make a few additional settings. For this, follow the on-screen instructions.

    The 3 CDs are the ones I had to burn after turning on my laptop for the first time, and I had already formatted it once... and it was working perfectly.

    No, but I plan to do it in the next few days. But I wanted to see if someone had already had the same problem and maybe it was just a simple fix to do ;)

    I think the best thing would be to see a real repairman just to be sure of what's happening to you.

    MISTRO: I already tried the F8 option with a repair, but Windows loads the files, and loads Windows... crashes.

    Menos: I think I will do that too...

    Yes without CD, but nothing. It crashes every time!

      Yes, it needs to be downloaded with BitTorrent and burned onto a CD as indicated in the tutorial. Burn it as an image.

    I just borrowed the Disc: Seven_Recovery_Disc from a friend because I noticed that Windows Vista was not recognized at all on the PC... I'm trying it out and I'll keep you posted ;)

    So, I've just installed Seven (on another partition) and right now I'm talking to you from my previously sick laptop :D! Thanks for your replies! Peace

    PS: MISTRO's help is still to be tested if I have a bug once, I'll keep that in mind ;)
