Wii and external hard drive issue!!

Hello, so here it is, I've been struggling with my hard drive for 3 hours,

I have several problems with my Wii. My dad gave one of his colleagues the Wii so that we could play games we didn't have. Anyway, my Wii has an external hard drive connected to it that says "advance." The games he put on it are sometimes useless, so I end up like this...

1) When I play the games on the hard drive, for example Zelda, almost every time it loads, the hard drive shuts down and the image freezes. To avoid a reset, I unplug and plug the hard drive back in, but it keeps happening every 10 minutes. If someone knows a solution, I’m eagerly waiting for it.

2) Then, I downloaded a Wii game ISO, but I don’t know how to put it on the hard drive because to open it in the Explorer where it displays correctly, my computer asks me to format it. But if I format it, I’ll lose the game already on it, right?

I’m eagerly waiting for your responses because I don’t know what to do anymore.
Configuration: Windows XP

stop your nonsense Nathack49, she doesn't need to burn to a hard drive!! that's impossible!!

Let's get back to the topic: normally, on your Wii, to launch your games, you need to have a USB loader. Either USB loader or USB loader GX, but there are plenty of others.

Can you tell me what you are using?

Then, to add a game, you need to use WBFS manager -> Google is your friend (if you can't find it, let me know and I'll give you a link).

To settle this slight dispute that dates back quite a long time, I give my support to tiotjordan: you cannot "burn" a Wii ISO, as nathack49 believed, but simply install it on the external hard drive using software like WBFS manager, based on the site wiinewz.com.
I know this topic is quite old, but the kind of noobs like you, nathack49, who come here just to show off and annoy everyone by spouting nonsense, well, they would be better off leaving.
There you go ;).

Could you be a bit more specific because I'm a novice in terms of ISO games?

To be recognized by your Wii, your hard drive must be in WBFS format. To do this, use WBFS MANAGER, which will also allow you to add your games.

I'm sorry, I can't provide you with the link, but Google is your friend.

burn to an external hard drive using ImgBurn at a maximum of x4, ideally x2
and read your game in ISO format on the Wii using a loader.

You don't come to a support forum to say stuff like that!!! Since when do you burn to a hard drive??

I'm sorry, but you're an amateur.
It's possible to play Wii games by reading them with a loader that is installed on an external hard drive. Otherwise, what would be the point of USB loaders and all the other loaders that can read Wii games from an external hard drive?
And besides, you said, "You don't come to a help forum to say such nonsense!!!"

it's not what I said, it's that it's impossible to BURN onto an external hard drive, we copy.

A Dacor DSL, I have never burned to an external hard drive before, but I thought it could be done with ImgBurn.
So how do we put the games on external hard drives?
I would be surprised if it were just copy-paste; otherwise, it would be very straightforward.
