Wii controller issue, Mario Kart Wii

Hello,

I have a problem with my Wii controller. Let me explain: I turn on my Wii console without issues, I press A, no problem, I insert the Mario Kart Wii disc and select it, no problem either, I choose my game mode, my character, my track, etc., no issues. But here's the thing: when the race starts, I accelerate and brake without any trouble, but I can't make my character turn; he just goes straight. I tried using a second controller and had no issues with that one. So to summarize, the controller I'm having a problem with is detected and synchronized with my console, but in the game, in steering wheel mode, I can't make my character turn.

If you know what to do, please help me. Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 17.0

Finally!!!!!!!! Here it is, the controller is working again. What to do: tap the remote, buttons down (not too hard, we don't want to break it either).

In my opinion, if it comes from the controller, it's a problem with the gyroscope and/or accelerometer.

If it doesn't respond to shakes from another game, then it's done for her...

I tried with another game: Wii Sport Resort, I played the Wakeboard game which requires holding the controller in the same position as when I play Mario Kart, and there, no problem moving. However, the Home button was unresponsive. I tried Mario Kart again with this controller and I still can't turn but the Home button works, it's a real mystery...

try to re-sync the controller with the console (press the red button on both parts at the same time)

I'm not sure if it will work though.

I have already tried, unsuccessfully. I have also completely unplugged the console.
If I can't find a solution, I will try on another Wii console at a friend's house this weekend. At least I will know if it's the console, the game, or the controller that is malfunctioning.

Yes. Because right now I don't see at all where the problem is...

It must be a problem with the controller because sometimes, on the Wii menu, the hand disappears or the controller is upright but the hand is tilted. But why it worked with Wii Sports Resort remains a mystery. I will still try this weekend on another console.
      Thank you very much anyway.
