Boot into Safe Mode Windows 7 Solved

Question

Hello,

I have an issue with a video file that I extracted from several compressed files, which remains invisible while still taking up 1GB on my PC. I tried to display hidden files, etc., but it stayed invisible. Now I would like to start the safe mode to see if the file appears, but I don't know how to do that on this PC (an HP with Windows 7 that I've had for not long), does anyone know how to do it?

I solved the problem by turning off the computer without shutting down Windows!
When I turn it back on, a message appears: "Windows didn't shut down normally, etc..." and below it says to start Windows normally or to start Windows in safe mode. So, I start it in safe mode. Not very orthodox but effective, because it's true that with the F8, F11, or even F5 keys... it’s a headache! And since usually when you have to restart in "safe mode", it means you already have a problem, it's not the time to be messing around with some "F" something!!!!

f8 doesn’t give me access to safe mode (on mine)
"by pressing F2 and then starting F8 indeed gives the choice;
but for me unfortunately it doesn’t load all the files and goes to sleep...
so off to Doctor Computer; big breakdown or reformatting,
there was a power outage last session, I think he’s upset...

It is indeed F8 to boot into Windows recovery mode.
F11 is for starting the BIOS manager, which allows forcing booting from a defined bootable partition.
If your BIOS is set to recognize bootable CDs, you must use F11 to access the partition that can execute F8, which actually runs directly with F11 if you have improperly shut down your PC;
ON THE OTHER HAND, if your BIOS is set to prioritize booting from the hard drive, F11 is useless and it will be directly F8!
So in summary, both sides are correct: F8 is right and F11 is right too. It's just a matter of BIOS configuration AT BOOT ;)
