Unlocking procedure for my sony ericsson

Hello,

I made my request to Orange to receive the code to unlock my mobile phone. I received the procedure this morning, but it is incomprehensible. It asks me to press the left side of the main key on my keyboard????!!!! I've made several attempts, but I can't see at all what they are talking about.
I'm copying the text:
"Thank you for now performing the following actions on your mobile:
Dial the following key sequence:
- Press once on the left side of the main key on your keyboard
- Press twice on the star key at the bottom left of your keyboard
- Press once on the left side of the main key on your keyboard
- Select Network
- Enter the code **************** and confirm
Once the operation is completed, your mobile phone will be simlock unlocked!"

If anyone can help me understand which keys I need to press, thank you very much.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.5.8

Turn on your phone without a SIM card. Press the left arrow once, then the * key twice, then the left arrow once. You will see the message "Customized with MNC2". Now enter the unlock code that we sent you.
If a submenu appears, select "network" then "disable" and enter the NCK code we provided you

This is a Sony Ericsson W580i.
I tried to turn it on without my SIM card, but it gets stuck on a "insert SIM card" screen and no button works. I tried in normal mode and in airplane mode, it's always the same.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you Gouby, it works very well with the W595, the SFR customer service couldn't tell me that I needed to remove the SIM card!

Hello, I have a Sony Ericsson W995 that is locked to Orange and I would like to unlock it because I have a new Free SIM card. Is there anyone who could provide me with unlocking codes, please? It's very urgent. Thank you.

My response is a bit late but it might still be useful. Orange gave you bad instructions... (ah those operators are such a pain ^^")

Actually, you need to:
turn off the phone
insert another SIM card (for example, if you're with Orange, use an SFR card) then turn it back on
It will ask you for your PIN code and then your unlock code for your phone. Enter the 8-digit code that Orange gave you and it should work normally ;-)

I haven't tried it but I hope it works.

Hello, I have the same issue. I was given a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini for my birthday, I've had it for a little while and I've received the unlock code from Orange. The problem is that I don't see how to perform the operation; it's not clear. Can any of you help me please? :-)

This is what Orange says: "Dial the following key sequence:
- Press once to the left of the main key on your keyboard
- Press twice on the star key at the bottom left of your keyboard
- Press once to the left of the main key on your keyboard
- Select Network
- Enter the code........... and validate
Once the operation is completed, your mobile phone will be unlocked from the simlock!

Hello

I think the left key shortcut needs to be disabled before performing the operation. Otherwise, a shortcut is selected and you can't type "star."

On the other hand, did you find the system: Press the left arrow once?
But normally the manipulation is done well without the SIM card, well you can still try with the SIM card, just make sure not to get the combination wrong and to go fairly quickly

so after trying the operation again from the beginning, I succeeded!
In fact, I was stopping during the series of manipulations when I got to the call history, but by tapping the left arrow again, it takes me back to the network menu.

Hello. Have you found a solution for the W580i? I'm exactly in the same situation, I can't figure out which key they're referring to when it says "Press once to the left on the main key of your keyboard."

I have the same procedure as titenanou and it doesn't work.

I also tried gouby's procedure by removing the SIM card but the same, it gets stuck and refuses to let me access anything as long as I don't insert the SIM card.

Would you have a solution, please?

Hello, I'm also having trouble. I've had a Sony Ericsson Xperia MINI for a month, and no matter how much I follow the Orange instructions, I can't figure out how to do it. I only have 3 buttons and a touchscreen. Orange states the following:

Press once on the left of the main key on your keyboard, Press twice on the asterisk key at the bottom left of your keyboard, Press once on the left of the main key on your keyboard, Select Network, Enter the code ........... and confirm

YES, but with my screen, I can't figure out how to do it...

Apparently you managed to do the trick, can you explain to me how you did it please? I was gifted the Xperia Mini but it's locked to Orange and their unlocking procedure, I don't understand anything, it's not coherent, can you help me please?
