Canon LiDE 80 scanner on Windows 7 64-bit

Good evening,
I have a CanoScan LiDE 80 that I'm trying in vain to install on my new computer which has Windows 7 64-bit.
I tried using the LiDE 60 driver but even following the procedure to the letter, it's not working: it indicates that there's a problem with the driver when I open Photo Studio to scan something.
Can you please guide me?
Thank you!
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.5.8

    Just change the software ^^
I have a Lide 30 that was no longer recognized by Windows 7, I installed VueScan and voilà, it works again ^

    Description of VueScan
VueScan is software for scanning images, photos, and negatives. The first positive point is that it is compatible with no fewer than 1200 scanners. No need to throw your old scanner in the trash, VueScan supports it! You can take a look at the list of supported scanners on the publisher's website.
The interface is clear without being very fancy. Beginners can stick to the default settings that allow them to obtain very good results without difficulty. Amateur or professional photographers will delve into the numerous settings offered (Histogram, color balance, Gamma...).

The software works directly at low level and manages multi-processors, which often allows it to be faster than the original software provided with your scanner.

      Hello,
The price difference between the cheapest version of Vuescan and a recent compatible Cannon scanner with Seven is about 30 euros.
It makes more sense to switch to a new scanner with all its drivers.
One can make someone happy by giving their "old" scanner to someone who works on XP.

My PC is running Windows 7 64 bit, and I'm using the LIDE 80 scanner. To do this, I installed VirtualBox, which can emulate Windows XP, provided that the original XP CD is installed in VirtualBox. When I want to use the scanner, I launch VirtualBox, which emulates Windows XP. And there you go, no need to change your scanner.

Thank you, but unfortunately, it does not solve the issue of the absence of a driver for a LiDE 80 with Seven 64 bits:

I contacted Canon in June 2010 and was told that they did not intend to develop a driver for Lide 80 on Windows 7 in 64 bits.
In other words, I just have to buy a compatible one (Canon, of course!) and throw this one away that works very well.

    Hello,
The solution I found to get a Canon Lide 80 scanner working on a computer running Windows 7 64-bit is to install a virtual version of Windows XP (Windows XP Mode).

Windows XP Mode allows you to run programs designed for Windows XP on computers running Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate.
