Hello,
I have a problem with the Samsung CLP 315 laser printer:
- It no longer prints
- the red light stays constantly on, - no other lights are on,
- it no longer responds to print requests and the computer (regardless of which computer, we've tried installing it on another one besides mine): the computers still have this printer in their list of printers, but they don't seem to be sending print requests to it because when I click on "print," nothing appears in the print queue window and the window indicating ink levels no longer opens
- the used toner cartridge is not even half full
What should I do?

Hello
The red light was on, the problem was that the Samsung program was asking for the imaging unit to be replaced. (150€ nonetheless).
Otherwise, the solution
Remove the imaging unit and on the side, there are 2 contacts in a housing.
Take out the small housing from the unit, you will see 2 resistors (56 ohms and 7.5 Kohms) in parallel; just replace these resistors and the imaging unit will be like new.
Best regards

Hello,
I had the same problem as you. But the "printer driver" was telling me to change the "imaging unit".
If your printer driver "doesn't want to talk to you", you should download it here, with the correct operating system:
http://www.samsung.com/fr/support/model/CLP-310/SEE-downloads
But it really looks like either a change of the imaging unit or just a change of resistors.
Happy dismantling!

the message indicating that the imaging block needs to be changed is found with the Windows drivers, so if you have Linux as your operating system, you will not see this printer error message, but I performed the operation on mine, and it has been working great since then. (Mandriva 2010.2)
good luck
good luck
To find the resistors, you need to:
Remove the toners, also take out the toner collector, and then remove the optical unit, which has a reference number on it (unit-opc). Handle it carefully and do not touch the drum (green).
At this stage, there are two small copper contacts on the lower part of the block on the right side. These contacts are clipped into a small recess; remove them carefully, and once removed, you will have your two resistors.
Using a multimeter (ohmmeter), check the values of the resistors.
One is 56 ohms and the other is 7.5 kohms.
If this is not the case, replace them, and then reassemble everything.
In the end, the imaging unit will be reset to 0 copies.
I remain at your service for more information.
Thank you in advance.
I changed the two resistors, the red light turns green but the printer shows me: "preheating, please wait a moment..." and it stays like that. What should I do please thank you.
