Problem with SAMSUNG CLP310 printer

I just experienced the same problem...
After several attempts, here are the actions that allowed me to get the printer (CLX-3185) working again!

1 - remove the waste container and carefully empty its contents into a trash bin
2 - rinse it thoroughly. On the side of the transparent plastic, you should be able to see through that the bin is empty
3 - inside the printer, at the top of the waste container's slot, there's a small flap where the indicator sensor is most likely located... with a slightly damp tissue, wipe this area
4 - remove all the cartridges, insert the waste container first, push it all the way in, then replace the cartridges

And then, miracle! After all this, it works.
Good luck to you, and shame on Samsung support, who told me that this part needed to be replaced, that it has a 6-month warranty, while my printer is 7 months old... but that it only costs "about" 8 euros to replace... All this for a bin that can simply be emptied... What a load of nonsense.

Same problem for me with my CLX 3175 (message: "replace used toner cartridge"). Despite a thorough wash with a lot of water, nothing worked... I then looked a bit more closely at the cartridge in question and noticed that there is a small sensor towards the middle of the piece, between some foam that looks like a small bubble. I cleaned this little bubble well and it seems to be working again... If this small bubble is dirty, the printer considers the cartridge to be full...

After emptying the tank, I'm still getting the same message. Unable to print.

What should I do?

Ultra simple solution: empty the contents as best as you can by tapping on it. Then use compressed air and a gun with an elongated nozzle and go inside as far as possible. 30 seconds and it’s done! The plastic bin should become quite transparent because there’s likely a sensor in the printer that indicates the bin is full when it gets dark.

For my CLX-3185FW with the message "Replace / Install Toner Ex", I emptied the tank and cleaned it dry with a cloth. Put it back in the printer and there you go!

We're back in business.

Yes, maybe, but "toner" does mean ink cartridge. Is this printer new?

Hello, for me the toner is the ink cartridge, so check that it is properly in place and that its levels are good. After that, you can also take a look at the manual to see what it says.
