Hello,
I'm asking for your help because I've encountered a problem; I can only hear out of the left side of my headphones, and this has been happening since today. I don't know what the reason is, as they haven't been subjected to any impact.
This has happened before, but after a PC reboot, everything returned to normal. However, this time nothing works.
So I would like to know what is happening and how to fix it!
Thank you, real1se.Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.5.7

Good evening,
Please check:
Otherwise, I can't see...
Good luck

know where to find it (Albert Einstein)
Please check:
- 1) The jack connection. A simple little gesture to reinsert or remove it may be enough to restore sound in both ears. (Has the computer been moved recently???)
- 2) Sound settings: start/control panel/sound and audio devices
- First tab device volume/advanced settings: ensure that the "balance in playback control" slider is centered
- First tab speaker volume/advanced settings: check in the dropdown menu that there isn't a stereo headset option to select
- Third tab audio/audio playback/advanced settings: again check if there's an option for a stereo headset in the dropdown menu
- 3) If a sound card has been added, enter the sound manager of the card (usually a small icon at the bottom right near the clock) and check that no settings are incorrect.
Otherwise, I can't see...
Good luck

Thanks for your reply, xav!
But I tried everything and nothing changed, so I'm left with no choice but to buy a new headset...
Thanks anyway!
I know it's been 2 years now, but I just had the same problem. I plugged in an old headset to check if it was the PC or the headset itself that was causing the issue, and the old headset worked perfectly. Then I plugged the headset that had the sound problem back in, and suddenly it was fixed and worked like before.
So for those who still can't find a solution, try plugging in an old headset, testing it, then reconnect your headset with the sound issue and it might be (maybe) fixed because sometimes it's just a Windows bug (I'm on Windows 11).
