Freebox connection issue timeout

Hello!

I'm asking for your help because my PC (Vista) is acting up!
Let me explain.

I'm currently connecting to it using a free hotspot (which I think depends on my Freebox since it disappears when I reboot my box). It works "okay", because of course it's not the best speed you can imagine...
It's impossible for me to connect to my Freebox, and when I try, Windows diagnostics tells me that the computer could not connect due to a timeout.

But what exactly is this damn timeout? Does it make any sense?
Knowing that the problem comes from my computer since my phone, my TV, my connection with my desktop, and even with another laptop are working perfectly.
I only have a problem with THIS computer.

I formatted my computer, but it didn't help...

Could someone please shed some light on this? :(

Thanks in advance!
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.5.7

I have Free, it happened to me.
1st: are you far from your Freebox?
2nd: what type of connection are you using (ethernet/USB key => which key?)

Hey!

No, I'm JUST next to my Freebox, and the format of my key: WAP (TPIK AES)

(note: I've already tried changing the "format" of the key)

Maybe this will help you:

Good luck.

Uchiha-Madara thank you! But of course, that would have been too easy...
My Freebox works perfectly fine with other computers via wifi, so I want to be clear that the issue is with my computer and not with my box...

Try going to the Control Panel, then enter "Network and Sharing Center," a window will appear, click on "Network Connections" which is located on the left in the menu, then look for the name corresponding to your network (for example, Free01...etc.), double-click it to connect, if it is secured, you will be prompted to re-enter the key.
If that doesn't work, in the previous window: "Network and Sharing Center" and still in the left menu, click on repair connection.

Good luck.

Hello,

Cancun, is your problem resolved? Because I have exactly the same issue as you and it is really annoying.
Thank you for your reply.

Hello,

I have exactly the same issue, I have 3 PCs connected to wifi at home and the strangest thing is that I can only connect to one of them. For the others, I connect using a hotspot like Cancun.
I've also tried changing the encoding type, the channel, well I've tried a bit of everything and there's no solution.
I hope someone can answer our question because it's really annoying to pay for a box that is supposed to work via wifi on all PCs.

Hello everyone, I also have this problem.
I replaced my hard drive because mine was of small capacity (80GB) and I reinstalled everything.
When I try to connect to the Wi-Fi of my Freebox, it says: "timeout ..."
However, I have another laptop and a phone connected to the Wi-Fi, and everything works fine!
I assume the problem comes from Windows, since if I put the old hard drive back in my computer, I can connect without any issues.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Thanks
