TV Decoder to PC via HDMI Connection

Hello,
I am trying to solve the same issue of receiving the output signal from the SFR TV decoder on my PC. This PC is equipped with an HDMI port that allows me to easily display the PC screen on a TV also equipped with HDMI. However, when I connect the HDMI cable from the decoder to the PC, nothing happens; the PC does not recognize the decoder. It seems that when the information goes out from the PC (to the TV) it works, while when the signal is supposed to come into the PC, it does not work.
Do you have any ideas? Is it possible that the HDMI output on the PC is misconfigured? Is it normal that it only works in one direction?
