How to disable auto-click? Solved

Hello,

I know this question may seem silly to some, but how can I disable the automatic click on a laptop? Very often, if by chance I accidentally place the pointer of the "mouse" (well, the touch thing) over a button or a hyperlink, the computer clicks on that button or link when I haven't asked it to. And it's extremely annoying!

Hi,

To disable this function, it's in the settings of the pointing device (the touchpad or touch thingy;-). For example, for me on a Synaptics touchpad, it's called: Tap: enable touch functions. If this option is not enabled, clicking can only be done with the buttons.

Hey,

Just be careful not to accidentally tap on your touchpad; some (depending on the settings) make it so that when you type, you click.

Hello,
I managed to solve this issue on my laptop by going into the touchpad settings: control panel / hardware and sound / mouse, Device Settings tab. Click on Settings, in the left index, choose Pointing, sensitivity: PalmCheck - slide the setting to the beginning of the red area at maximum and pressure sensitivity - slide to the right until the second to last dash (strong pressure). Apply and OK.
Above all, do not disable the touchpad if you do not have a mouse as tabbing is not very effective.
