Remove dual boot XP / 7

Hello,
I have 2 disks on my PC. On the first one, I have Windows XP-SP3, everything is fine.
On the second one, I attempted to install Windows 7, and I ended up with a dual-boot; OK
I decided to remove Windows 7 from my PC to try Linux. To do this, I wrecked the partition on disk 2 (start/control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management)
And that's where it gets tricky... I'm still getting the dual boot (but no access to Windows 7, of course) and I want to remove the dual-boot so that it starts like before, directly under XP without asking anything.
The idea is to create a dual boot with Linux afterward, but for now, it doesn't work, probably because of the residue from my attempt with Windows 7.
Thank you for your help
Best regards, Al
Configuration: Windows XP SP3 Firefox 3.5.5

I think a simpler method than using software is to go through the msconfig command on your machine. In the window that opens under the startup tab (I believe), you have a line that contains seven as well as the different checkboxes to check/uncheck for a clean boot.

    Logic.
You broke the partition but not the boot.
Download easybcd, it will help you delete this boot and create others if you want

You need to reset your bootloader, but watch out, it will start again with Linux. Find a software for that, but I know since I've already done it, but it was to uninstall Linux, I used easyBDC.

    Thank you friends,
My issue is resolved with easyBCD, I was able to restore the boot correctly as before.
Strangely, with msconfig, the boot.ini file did not show any reference to Windows 7 even though it appeared in the choice at boot time???
Anyway, thanks to everyone, tomorrow I'm installing Linux (Mandriva 2010) and I hope everything goes well...
    Best regards, Al.
