Epson V700 Photo Scanner Issues

Hello,
My Epson v700 PHOTO scanner won't start anymore. When I turn it on, after a few seconds the power button starts flashing red. If I unplug the lid and try again, it manages to initialize but then it's impossible to scan slides and negatives. Only the scanning of opaque documents works. Has anyone ever faced this issue?

    It already happened to me, I simply reset the settings to default and restarted the computer. Upon reboot, everything worked... no idea what the cause was...
    I also had a similar problem related to driver updates with Windows XP... something was affecting the USB ports... except that the opaque scan wasn't working anymore either...

    I had already tried resetting all the settings to default and reinstalling the drivers, but the problem remained the same. So I finally took the scanner to an Epson repairman who diagnosed a fault with the lid and since it couldn't be repaired, it had to be replaced (cost of the operation €200).
    The cause remains unknown, but the scanner is working again, hopefully for a long time given the price of the repair.

      Repairs are always expensive; that's part of life with electronics... At least it works now.

      I have an Epson Perfection 2480 that I've had for 5 years. It works very well, but it's a bit slow at 2400dpi. I've had this issue several times after changing PCs and switching to Windows 7 64-bit. On the Epson website, I was able to perform an update, and everything is back to normal. My only complaint is that it takes a long time to scan my films, and it doesn't support 120 (I use a Bronica ETRSi). So I’m considering moving to the V700 or V750, but I'm hesitating between the two because of the price difference, and I'm not familiar with Silverfast. CYRILLE LEGALL
