Adjusting brightness in Windows 7

The 'explanation' solution has existed for ages.

But many prefer to search the Net instead of using Windows Help and Support

* On-Screen Display Menu
You can adjust the brightness and contrast settings of certain screens via an on-screen display menu. Generally, you access the on-screen display menu by pressing the button (possibly labeled Menu) located on the front of the monitor.

* Laptop Screen.
Laptop screens do not have brightness or contrast buttons on their front. For the vast majority of laptops, there is no contrast adjustment control. However, you can adjust the brightness on many laptops by holding down the Fn key and pressing the appropriate function key to decrease or increase the brightness. When using color calibration on a laptop, set the screen brightness to its maximum value.

And when the Fn key stops working due to a Windows update??? The irony!!!

So here’s my solution:
To be able to adjust the brightness with a slider in Windows 7, you need to set the power plan to "high performance," and then restart. The slider called "screen brightness" appears at the bottom of the "power options" window.

By the way, the famous shortcut "Windows + X" didn't show the brightness setting before this manipulation. Only after.

Otherwise, you need to update your graphics card driver by going to alllesdrivers.com, installing the small utility, and starting the detection. A list of new drivers available for your graphics card will then appear.
Manual updating via the device manager indicated that no driver was available, while mine was from 2006...

I am outraged that such a feature doesn't exist on the latest Windows! It seems very important to me; I care about my eyesight! Well, I found a Plan B that might work on desktop computers (if it can help someone..): adjust the screen brightness! On a laptop, it seems compromised to me.. So, problem half solved! Well, I just explained it: you adjust the brightness on your monitor. You go into the menu of your screen (there's usually a menu button somewhere) and then you should be able to adjust everything related to contrast, brightness, etc. Because apparently it’s impossible to do it from the control panel. In any case, I searched for quite a while and found nothing. So, according to me, it's not possible to do it from your operating system (Windows 7 in this case), although I find it very surprising. There, I don't see how to be clearer..! Then, depending on the computer you have, you sometimes have a settings menu specific to the brand of your computer. For example: before my current Packard Bell, I had an Acer laptop (Aspire 5012, to be precise) and it had a kind of toolbox called Acer Empowering Technology that allowed for this kind of adjustment. So the best thing to do for now is to go through the user manual of your computer or your Windows, something I've never had the courage to do, I'm an inveterate slacker! There. If I can be of any help.. Otherwise, Windows 7 seems perfectly fine for now; it’s the same interface as Vista, improved, but it’s less heavy, so it runs a bit better. Regards.

4/ (click) Windows Mobility Center and go to monitor brightness
You decrease or You increase
