Hello,
I would like to know which drivers you recommend for the SB Live 5.1 sound card. I would like to use it under Windows 7 and use the microphone input for recording in Fruity Loops... Otherwise, what sound card would you recommend for playing sound on my 5.1 setup and having a decent quality microphone input, please? (I'm not talking about professional cards that cost 200 euros... I'm looking for good value for money :-) !)
Thank you for your insights!

http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/?file=kxdrv3550-full.exe Due to your problems... I have downloaded the driver from 'KX project' and I have a digital output on my Sound Blaster with Vista... now I need to try to find the console on the Creative Sound Blaster website...?

Thank you for your response, but I took a look and it says "End of Service Life," so I can't get a driver for this card. I would like to use the KX drivers (which I used before on XP), but it's really annoying to configure to use the microphone input of the card... my microphone input is not recognized in FL Studio unless I check the "AC97" box in the KX mixer (if you know a bit...) and it's very tedious because it doesn't use the driver for my SB card but the one for the onboard sound card for the microphone... which I don't want!
I would have preferred to use another driver that manages 5.1 and where I can use my microphone input for recordings as I wish.
Do you have another solution?

Yes, I've already considered buying a new sound card, but it bothers me to not use the one I have, especially since I've always been satisfied with its performance for my needs. Otherwise, what kind of card would you recommend (to manage my 5.1 and have a microphone input)? M-Audio?

I had an idea... maybe I can use my sound card with the KX drivers like I used to (for my 5.1 setup) and buy another card just for microphone and MIDI capture? In that case, for good recording, I'm not sure what would be needed....

Have you tried using the Vista drivers to install certain things? The drivers work for Seven! !

Well, I don't have those Vista drivers... I went from XP Pro to Windows 7 Ultimate, and since my card is no longer supported by technical support... for now, to my knowledge, I only have the KX drivers available that could make my card work. But I would be interested if I find another driver that manages my kit and handles my mic input without any hassle... because as I said, it’s a mess with KXmixer to get the mic input to work in FL Studio.

Well, I downloaded the updated KX drivers for Windows 7 and I have a big problem...: I have sound through my center speaker and subwoofer but not on the other speakers even though I’m properly configured in 5.1 in the KX mixer!!!
I don’t know what to do anymore :( ! I even ended up testing sound blaster drivers that aren’t meant for my card, hoping they might eventually make my card work.
Does anyone have any solutions??

In fact, the drivers are specific to each hardware, so it's difficult to find compatible ones!!
The easiest solution would be to buy a new card, but I don't think that's the answer you're looking for!!
