Hello,
my grandmother passed away a month ago and I have therefore retrieved her laptop, an Aspire 5735Z (Windows Vista), but the problem is that she made a lot of mistakes on it (there are still plenty of error messages and some programs won't start, even with the command prompt...) and I would like to know if it is possible to reset it to how it was when she bought it ("factory reset").
Thank you very much in advance.

Hello cocodu63,
To reinstall like on the first day, you must have eRecovery. Go to start, all programs, Acer, eRecovery, restore,
A+

Hello ...
... and sorry for your grandmother.
Normally, when you boot up the machine, you should see the BIOS homepage that tells you which key to press to start the system reinstallation (F10 or F12).
From there, you should automatically get the WinRE startup and be guided to reconfigure the laptop to its factory settings.
Otherwise, regarding the 'mistakes,' who hasn't made any ... understanding computers is not an easy thing and that deserves respect.

Everything comes in due time to those who know how to wait...
