NETGEAR XET1001 Powerline Networks

Hello, I just bought the NETGEAR XET 1001, which is a powerline network adapter. I set everything up as indicated (this product is marked on the box as "plug & play", so it shouldn't be too difficult... however, I can't connect.
Here’s my situation and my gear:

Dell XPS computer, Windows Vista.
Netgear Wifi card (functional but unstable, which is why I wanted to switch to powerline)
And so, the famous product mentioned above.

The steps I've taken:

I plugged the adapter into the power socket and into my router.
I did the same with the one for my PC.
I launched the small installation program provided with the product.

And in the end, I still have my Wifi connection, and the only network that appears in the list in addition is "Unidentified Network" with a limited connection.

I really hope that CommentCaMarche can provide me with a solution, and I thank in advance those who will try to help me.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.5.3

    Hello,

    The list of networks you’re referring to only concerns Wi-Fi. Wired connections do not appear there.

    If you disconnect your Wi-Fi network, do you still have a connection? If so, then the powerline/Ethernet connection is working.

    Hello Jee Pee, and thank you very much for your quick response. Unfortunately, my Wi-Fi network disconnection has removed the connection (unable to access the internet, etc...)

    If I can add regarding my first post, the middle light (blue) sometimes blinks, and is off most of the time, but never lit as it should be.
    I also tried plugging the network cable into my Xbox 360 for testing, and I was also unable to connect

    I hope someone will find a solution to my problem :(

    Is your XPS a laptop?

    If so, have you checked by connecting an Ethernet cable between your router and the PC that the wired connection is set up and works well? This would help confirm that the problem is only related to the powerline adapter.
