Hi everybody,
my problem is:

I hav a Toshiba Tecra A4-PTA40E laptop. the problem is that eventhough I set the BIOS to boot from dvd-rom first, it always boots from the hdd makin no effort to boot from the dvd-rom. i see that the bios save the configuration but no change happen. One more thin is that when i remove the hdd it finds no problem to boot from the dvd-rom but once i put it back the same problem persist.

bios information: ACPI BIOS version: 1.70

thank you in advance.

hi Redhat,

the dvd-rom drive used to boot from either bootable CDz or DVDz, my laptop stoped booting after a bad shutdown i think, but before that everythin was ok.
lately i run a scan on the BIOS and this is the result:

Booting From CD-ROM : BIOS currently supports this feature that says it was ok if you have really activate the cdrom as firstboot device

A reset of the bios is possible, if you pull out the battery for an hour (pc complete shut down before)

Sorry, no other ideas
