Did my computer get struck by lightning?

Hello,
My computer just got struck by lightning while it was plugged in during the storm (yes, I know, smart move...), and it won't start anymore.

It's an HP Pavilion dv9705ef (product sheet here: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx/c01295203.pdf), equipped with Vista.

Strangely, it was plugged into a power strip where other devices (a phone, a printer, an Alice box...) are also plugged in and they are all working just fine.

Is my PC dead? Is there anything that can be recovered?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

If it doesn't start, it's possible that it's the power supply system of your motherboard or your motherboard itself that is fried. Take it to a repair shop and ask if they can tell you what's wrong with it.

My job is this

In your central unit, nothing can be recovered, but your computer monitor may work.

Uh, I can tell you from having been struck by lightning once that it wouldn't just be the computer that would have fried. For me, it was the doorbell, the TV, the VCR, the phone, the DVD player, and the modem. It could be the graphics card that fried, like on all the dv9000.

When you press the button to start your PC, does anything happen (LED lights up, beep, etc.)?
If nothing at all happens, not even a small reaction, your power supply might have failed, and if the lightning was further away, it could be more of a hassle.
