Audio issue, loss of audio system

Hello,
First of all, I would like to thank Sylvanohé and Peps for their answers regarding the batteries.
I have another question; due to a mistaken manipulation (that's the only explanation I have), I no longer have sound on my laptop (Toshiba A60 174, Windows XP Family SP2). In the Device Manager, it indicates that no audio system is detected.
I wanted to restore it, but the restoration DVD requires formatting the hard drive.
I am looking to know which driver to install on my PC; if anyone has the same hardware, could you please let me know?

Thank you in advance.

I found the solution, it was really dumb, I’m doing a system restore to the day before my mistake.

Hello,

So here I have a problem with sound, there's no sound coming from my speakers, my speakers are correctly connected and when I go to the device manager I see a yellow exclamation mark next to multimedia audio controller and simplified communication PCI controller, but the problem is that I no longer know the name of my audio card to search for the drivers. Please help me, and I have Windows XP.

Good evening,
I had the same problem and I managed to get the audio sound without reinstalling the OS XP:
- uninstall AC 97 in device manager
- restart the PC just once
- check if Audio Intel(r) is present in the device manager and also in audio settings of the control panel
- also check in services in administrative tools if Windows audio has started

otherwise, there might probably be a malware and in that case, do a keyword search on GOOGLE

see you later.

Hello, I have some issues. Since I reinstalled Windows, I have no sound. When I say no sound, I really mean it, lol. Can you help me? I also lost some drivers for certain files and I don't have the CDs. I'm downloading them, but it's asking me to uninstall the old ones. How do I do that?
Thank you.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with the sound. The sound works very well when I listen to music (movies...) recorded on my PC, but when I’m on websites (for example: YouTube), the sound doesn’t work. Could you help me with this somewhat annoying issue? Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone!
Following (me too) a bad manipulation, I had no sound at all. Whenever a message appeared, my computer would beep. After a little tour on the forum, I went to touslesdrivers.com in the drivers section. I installed what it suggested. Since then, the devices are recognized, but I still have no sound.
Does anyone have a suggestion??

Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,
I also have a sound problem with Windows SP Ultimate Edition 2.0, but I'm not very familiar with PCs. The sound issue only occurs when I open a second audio codec; for example, I start the audio, and all the system sounds work fine, except I no longer have the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to adjust the volume. Then, as soon as I start a video, it plays normally, and a few minutes later, after exiting the video, I don't know how, but I have no sound for playing videos, music, or communicating with Skype or MSN. PLEASE HELP ME!!
On top of that, I've tried everything: reinstalling the sound drivers, system restore, and frankly, I've thrown in the towel!!!!

My computer is not emitting any sound despite the speakers being in good working condition; therefore, I
carried out audio driver checks.
PROCEDURE: I clicked on start, run, then I typed: msinfo32 in the open field.
I clicked on the plus sign (+) next to components.
I selected audio devices; the dialog box does not display anything (empty).
Can you help me find the audio driver compatible with my Windows XP Professional operating system and where to find it? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
My PC is an HP Pavilion a1517.fr desktop computer.

Hi Allal,
For your sound problem, I can't really help you, but what I can advise is to check the sound card; maybe it's misconfigured: something you can check with customer service.

I just have a personal question: I studied at the university in Montpellier, and at that time I knew a guy named MOHOUCH Allal; I would like to know if it was you.
Keep me posted please.

See you later.

Hello! Here is my problem! For a few days now, when I use Internet telephony (Skype, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, etc.), I can hear my interlocutors, but they can't hear me.
Although I have tried many manipulations recommended on the Skype or Microsoft sites (configuring the microphone under voice recognition, checking the connection, testing the recording of my voice, etc.), to resolve this issue, I have not been able to achieve any positive results. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Good evening,
I have the same problem.
The microphone works normally with Wavelab, for example.
I am therefore open to any solution that works.
Thank you

Hi:
I had the same problem and the solution was as follows:
Select (volume control) then press the button (advance) and in the window (advanced controls for MIC) the 2nd
box (2mic2select) should not be selected.

Hello, I just had the same problem. The issue is that I can't restore because everything was uninstalled by a technician, so I have no sound and I'm getting a rundll error, something like error steamci. Could you tell me which program I need to download? Thank you very much.

Hello,
If your computer is an HP or Compaq, you can already check all the procedures here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/fastFaqLiteDocument?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=212728&docname=bfh07154
Look above at the solutions Claude suggested.
I haven't done the uninstallations and reinstallations yet, so I don't know if it will work. Keep us updated if you succeed.
