PSX emulator issue

Hello,

I've installed the ePSXe emulator to replay my old Playstation games on PC. It works pretty well but I'm having trouble saving. First off, the F1 and F3 keys don't work for quick saves. And the conventional save doesn't work either. Let's say it works in a very hit-or-miss way. I tried using the Memcard Editor utility to create a new Memory Card file but without success.
I've seen on forums that many others have had the same issue but I haven't found a solution yet. So I'm asking just in case.

I'd also like to be able to play with a mouse for adventure games, but that doesn't work either. I tried using the F5 key, but to no avail. It's not that important, but I would like to understand it nonetheless.

I'm also wondering if I buy two USB DualShock controllers, will they be recognized by ePSXe for sure?

Thank you very much
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.13

Furthermore, the quick save does not work with pSX! If I press F6 for example, it indicates "Cannot create saves\quicksave_none_1.psv"

Aaaah please help me!

A small clarification that might be useful. When I close ePSXe, there is an MS-Dos window that indicates.

* Warning: The Memory Card [file path] has NOT been saved to disk

I am using version 1.6.0 of the emulator because I couldn't get 1.7.0 to work.

Take "psx v1.13", it works better than what you have.

A priori, it seems to be much less buggy than ePSXe :-) Thank you very much!
And at first glance, the saves seem to be working. I will try several games to confirm that. Just one question that may be a bit silly. Is there another way to enter full screen besides ALT+Enter? ^^

Meh, it doesn't work that well... You can save once, but afterwards it's impossible to save again, and it's always the first save that appears. Same problem as in ePSXe, then. It feels like the save is made, but once the emulator is shut down, bye bye the save... Could it be the ROMs I'm using (ROMs of games I had originally back in the day, of course, but scratched over time)?

Another issue, I feel like when switching from windowed to full screen, the brightness, contrast, and gamma settings get lost, and the same happens when stopping the emulator. It's annoying.

In ePSXe 1.7.0, you just have to click on Start, then you can click on Enable Recordings, there you go, it’s done!!! ;)

Hello, I have PSX v1.13 but FF8 doesn't start, but it starts on ePSXe. Can you help me get it working on PSX v1.13?
