Start button issue with DS emulator

Hello,
I downloaded the DS IDEAS emulator version 1.0.3.0. My problem: when I press the start button to, for example, skip text, it works... But when I press to open the menu (Pokédex, items, save, etc...), well... it doesn't work... Does anyone know how to fix this?
