Hello,
I bought my PSP 3 weeks ago and it no longer reads UMDs. I hear the sound of the UMD spinning and it gives me this message: impossible to read the disc. What should I do?? Please help me.

Change your PSP :)
Normally, customer service is available to listen to you (the number should be somewhere in the box or in the manual)
That's all I can tell you... =/ -
And I have a problem :D, is it normal that when I play GTA with my PSP 3000 I hear some kind of rubbing in the UMD drive?
And by the way 08alex, is your PSP still under warranty? -
Friction is indeed normal... It's actually the noise your console makes when it's reading the UMD!!
And to answer your question, I think after 3 weeks, its PSP is indeed still under warranty :) -

There is a good chance that it is just the module that moves the lens that is not back in place.
If the warranty doesn't work, try this: 1. When you open the UMD reader with the screen facing you, locate the lens (it's not hard, it looks like a small magnifying glass about 2-3 mm).
2. It is attached to a module that moves on a worm screw. Gently, with a small tool (fairly rigid), you need to push the little carriage all the way to the right and hear a "click"; this means it has returned to its place.
What happens after a shock is that the module doesn't start its reading at the beginning of the UMD and the console doesn't have the necessary information to start the game.

With the PSP, you can do everything... even more!!!!!!!!!! -

Thank you for all your answers, I succeeded. I just had to put the lens back in place with a toothpick and remove the dust with a cotton swab.
Thank you again.
