2 different subscriptions for one house

Hello,
I’m not very good with the internet or spelling, and I apologize for that, but I would need some information, let me explain

I live with my grandparents and my uncle, who is a no-life. We share one internet connection, but he downloads everything all day and blocks my connection whenever he wants.

My grandparents suggested that I get a second connection, a completely new subscription, but is that possible since we are in the same house?
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.20

    Hello!!
Sorcierblanc is absolutely right, you can draw multiple lines in a house just by adding a socket at the entrance, I have 2 connections in the house, my big brother uses one all day but now that I've added the 2nd connection, it's paradise, I can use the 2nd one without worrying about the 1st ;)
It is therefore totally POSSIBLE to have 2 connections.

Two connections mean 2 boxes? 2 landline phone numbers? 2 bills?
Thank you for your answers, it's not very clear to me.

        Hello,
Two boxes - yes on 2 lines (telephone or fiber) yes
Two landline numbers, why not generally the landline is part of the subscription contract.
Two bills... not necessarily if it's the same ISP there can be a bundled bill for both subscriptions.

      Hello!

So how did you manage to get the second line?

I just ordered a second line at my place and it's been canceled; the operator said it's not possible to have 2 lines at the same address...
