Hello, I bought a negative and slide scanner from the brand ZOLID at Aldi, I did the installation normally, but every time I plug it in, I get a message indicating that the software was not installed correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled the product, and I still receive the same message. My laptop is an HP running Vista, can someone help me?
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.11

Hi,
I had the same difficulty.

Hi !!
After following the instructions... software/driver installation... and restarting the computer...
When I connected the device, I was asked to insert the installation CD again... automatically the software was reinstalled... even though everything was fine... normally?
But it works! The quality isn't great... the images are a bit dull... but there seem to be quite a few editing tools!
Advantage: very quick "scan" of the negative (but is it really a scan??? or a digital photo being taken?)
Disadvantage: not very "sharp" as a result!
Overall: you get what you pay for!

Good evening, I have the same problem on Windows XP and I would like to know if someone has found a solution?
The "official" solution is to download the driver from the website www.unisupport.net.
But it doesn't work any better than the driver provided on the CD.
Hello,
I tried to connect a ZOLID P50614 negative scanner, purchased at Aldi, to a Microsoft Vista Basic PC.
Microsoft Vista refuses to fully install the driver provided on the CD.
It accepts the driver downloaded from the website www.unisupport.net, but does not recognize the scanner when it is connected.
Therefore, I am unable to use this device.
Should I return it to Aldi?
Request a replacement or a refund???
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Once finally installed, it's a bit of a disappointment...
the quality is poor, can't seem to adjust it properly to get a good image
it only takes a pale photo of the slide
I'm disappointed :(

I am also using XP and after resolving the USB 2.0 issues, I indeed downloaded and installed the drivers from the website www.unisupport.net (50585-driver.zip), then restarted and finally connected the scanner. Everything works fine. As for the image quality, I followed the advice found at the following address (http://www.ebm.free.fr/IMG/pdf/ION_Slides_2_PC_et_GIMP.pdf) to improve colors, contrasts, and more with a very satisfactory result.
Now regarding the price, it's still a good deal (that’s just my opinion)
Good luck

It’s normal, you need to remove the parenthesis after pdf (in the internet address).

I too bought this scanner and my first impression was disappointment. First, during the installation, it crashed; I am on XP and it was the Windows installer that was causing the problem. After updating the installer, it worked.
After various attempts to correct the images using several photo software programs, I finally managed to achieve a satisfactory result, but it’s not easy. GIMP is very difficult to use, not intuitive at all. I tried several, and the conclusion is that there is no specific software that does everything correctly; the results vary quite a bit depending on the scanned slide.
The software provided with the CD gives fairly average results. The only application that is truly usable, and even more functional than the others, is the cropping tool; the rest is better off being forgotten.
Of all the free software I tested, the best results came from IrfanView, which offers a comparison window with the image before processing. It’s very practical; you can see right away if it improves or not.
For the price, I find the result acceptable, and I can attest that apart from professional equipment, you won’t get more satisfactory results by paying more. I had previously bought another one on eBay for €99, and it was worse.

Hello,
When I installed it, I had no problems, it was on Vista. I've changed machines, and my problem is that I can't find the installation CD with PhotoImpression. Could someone help me (provide me with a copy)?
Thank you in advance for your help.

If it doesn't work like that (by plugging it into the computer), what you can do is directly scan the slides and negatives from the scanner onto a memory card and manage with a simple editing program afterward...
Anyway, for the price of this product, one shouldn't expect anything extraordinary...

I have another problem, the program installs without any issues, but then... the program starts, I click on acquire photo from a scanner and it configures automatically, but when I click on acquire it says that the device is not connected. I checked the devices and it was there, what should I do????
