Hello,
I have an old iMac G4 Sunflower. Yesterday, while doing some updates, it froze. Since then, I have a black screen. I tried turning it off and on again, nothing works. I can hear the motor, the mouse lights up, but the screen is black and unresponsive. Also, I can't turn on the CD drive.
What is it? What should I do?
Thanks

Hi,
Get into a very dark room and turn on your Mac:
- if you can slightly see the Finder, then there's a good chance that the backlight is not working and therefore the inverter needs to be changed. It's a part found within the screen and you can change it yourself if you're handy. I have 3 MacBooks at home, and 2 of them have already had this issue which cost me between 100 and 200 euros.
- if you can't see anything, then it's more complicated.
But the best thing you can do is to find an Apple Center near you to have them diagnose your iMac.

Could you give me some advice or references to repair the backlighting of my sunflower that is no longer working?
