LG TV USB issue Closed

Question

Hello, I have an LG 32LH2000 TV with a USB port, but when I plug in a USB stick with photos, videos, or music, nothing happens. I don't even know which source to go to (AV1, AV2, AV3, component, etc.). If anyone can give me a clue ^^.

The 32 LH 2000 does indeed have a HD terrestrial tuner. No worries about that.
As for the USB port, it is officially reserved for customer service...but it is possible to enable reading images, MP3s, SD videos and even HD (up to 1080p):
Access the service menu by pressing "OK" on the remote control and on the TV at the same time (for 5 seconds)
enter the password: 0000
go to option 3
Change "divx playback via usb" from "OFF" to "HD" and enable image reading from "JPG" to "1"
Use the return key on the remote control to exit the menu.

Here’s what I can read: AVI, MPG, MPEG, MP4, DIVX, XVID, H.264, MKV (but no DTS) and all with an external hard drive connected via USB.

Note:
Procedure to be carried out at your own risk...I also believe that it voids the warranty...
Seems to work on the entire LH series and others if there is a USB port present (to be tested...)
The TV firmware must be at most 3.15 (does not work for example in 3.24)

Same problem... But in the "modes" there is no USB (only RGB, HDMI x 2, AV and Components)... So, the TV does not accept either external drives, USB sticks, iPods, etc. It's a scam! FNAC sold it to me with a supposedly working USB port...

We must demand a refund...

On the other hand, the rest is quite nice...

Hello  I have exactly the same problem. If we look at the CD that comes with the TV, we see that USB sticks cannot be read on an LG 32LH2000, which does have a USB port.  I clearly specified to my seller a TV with a USB port where I could at least view photos or listen to music. He replied: "YES YES, you can view photos or listen to music," "liar." All this just to sell me this TV, which was of course more expensive than the original one. I will go back on Monday morning to change the TV, and I will keep you informed.

first check the firmware version of your TV: it doesn't work beyond version 3.15 (or at least a different procedure). The procedure is the one I gave you: OK on the remote + on the TV, enter the code, and go to option 3. I bought the 32lh2000 just yesterday, according to the seller, the latest LG version  and I can't see the contents of my USB stick  I followed the procedure remote menu + TV menu simultaneously but when I go to option 3  I can't access the settings mentioned earlier in the topic  it says "power off by remote key". helpmee, have you checked your firmware number? It needs to be 3.15 and not 3.24. For me, on my 22lh2000 bought yesterday, it works perfectly.

A big thank you to asoli for his very interesting response. Here is a brief summary of what he said:
1) Turn on your television
2) Press the OK button on the television and the remote control simultaneously for 5 seconds
3) A small window will open (password) Press 4 times on 0 of your remote control. A window will open
4) Go to option 3
5) Change "DivX playback via USB" from "OFF" to "HD" and activate image playback from "JPG" to "1"
Use the back button on the remote control to exit the menu.

Here’s what I can read: AVI, MPG, MPEG, MP4, DIVX, XVID, H.264, MKV (but no DTS) and all of this with an external hard drive connected via USB

After that, my question is, do we really lose the warranty???

If you do not have access to the service menu, it means that your firmware is higher than 3.15

Hello, My problem with reading the USB stick via the USB port of my 32LH2000 TV still persists, and I've given up. But I found another solution. I have the SFR Neufbox and a TV HD decoder. On this decoder, there is a USB port. Just plug the USB stick into this port on the decoder and then use the remote control to go to TV MENU AND THEN TO MEDIA CENTER, and there, the stick is recognized, so you can start reading the documents from the stick. Hello,
before you can read the USB key or hard drive, you need to unlock the USB port on the TV. In principle, and perhaps depending on the model, you should have an OK button on the television (mine is located on the side with the volume + and -, channel + and -, menu,...) to unlock the USB port. You need to press the OK button on the TV and simultaneously press the OK button on the remote control for about 3 seconds. If you don’t have this OK button on the TV, unfortunately, I can't help you. If you manage to get this far, follow the rest of the procedure indicated above.

The USB port on this 32LH200 TV is solely intended for service tech use. It was never meant for playback or recording. Anyone can tinker with it if they wish. For my part, purchased at the end of December 2009, the key combination doesn't work (recent and locked firmware?) "software V03.40.40" I have a connected Freebox, which functions as a VCR and has USB ports as well (long live FREE)  I don't find the automatic channel detection very good:  CHANNEL EDITING: France2 assigned to channel 2 is incorrect, but correct on 802 I haven't quite understood the logic for using the blue button = "skip" yet  In manual detection There the green button "move" is better for reassigning the best channel to the correct channel number, but this green button is not suggested in channel editing after automatic detection....

Originally, the USB is reserved for customer service, but for your information, I unlocked the USB port of my LG TV 32LF2510 (firmware v3.55) with a Thomson ROC2407 universal remote (2 in 1) from Darty: it takes 10 seconds ????

- Program code 0119 in the universal remote (SETUP…, TV, 0119, Off)

- Press the [SETUP] button then [ --/- ] to open the EZ ADJUST menu.

- With the LG remote, enter the password 0000

- Go to 2.Tool Option3

- Change "EMF (JPEG,MP3)" from "0" to "1"

- Change "Divx" from "OFF" to "HD"

- Use the Back button on the remote to exit the menu.

And there you go! MP3, JPEG, Divx, MKV h264 Full-HD... (but no DTS) :-)

Note: This operation voids the warranty but is reversible and risk-free, as long as you don't touch the other options. More info on Google with LG Irda hack....

Only the LF/LH/LU share the same motherboard/Linux.  You can find universal remotes for less than €10 at discount stores (Aldi, Lidl...) And they can be resold on eBay.... Otherwise, you can borrow one from a friend: there's probably someone who has one... Tapenade, you need to click on Menu, go to Options (don't click on OK) to enter Options, just hover the cursor over it. Then click 7 times on "FAV" on your remote. And there you go, a pop-up will ask you to install the firmware :) See you!

Good evening, I would like to get some clarifications because I still can't unlock the USB port of my LG LH3000 I would like to do it with a T'NB bluepad universal remote. At the risk of asking stupid questions, I prefer to ask before doing anything reckless. (My LG model is version 3.55)  So first, if I understand correctly, it's not necessary to downgrade if we want to unlock with a remote control? (or is it pointless)  I program my remote to recognize my LCD, then do I need to do anything else before doing the OK manipulation on the LCD? Because I tried OK on the LG remote and OK on the LCD but nothing happens.  Thanks, a little help would be appreciated ;p

Hello, I'm unable to change the firmware; I have version v03.24.00 and want to install v3.15. I followed the steps by going to options and pressing 7 times on fav. I see the software update screen (Expert) appear, but after that, I can't do anything. I can't select the version I want to install. I tried downloading the v3.15 firmware from the links, but how do I get it onto my TV? I'm a bit lost; even following the tutorials, it's not working as they say. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a little issue (actually a pretty big one!!) I updated to 3.15 to enable USB. So far, so good. I was able to activate it! But the image was off, so I reverted to the initial update 3.40, and it's still the same: the image is off. I wanted to reverse the process, go back to 3.15 and cancel the USB activation, but when I did the update, the TV permanently turned off. I hope my TV isn’t broken. Can someone help me??? Please

I purchased the LG 32LH2000 television some time ago, but until now, my building was not equipped with TNT, so I had never tried using the TNT option on my TV.  Recently, the building has been equipped to receive TNT and it works perfectly on the second TV in the house (without making any adjustments I receive all the TNT channels).  However, this is not the case with my LG 32LH2000. I thought it might be an automatic block imposed by the manufacturer LG, to force me to register on the site "https://www.divx.com/en/vod", register my LG TV, and thus "filter" the DivX files (I think, but I’m not sure).  Anyway, I managed to solve the problem simply by resetting my TV to its factory settings. Procedure: menu / Option / Factory settings.  If I encounter the same issue in two months, I will repeat the same process.

Hello,  While I'm at it (I just answered another more recent question), I will also respond to this question from ... June 30, 2009!  The LG 32LH2000 TV does not have the codecs to play either video files, photo files, or audio files. This TV was marketed in April 2009, and LG did not intend (I think) at that time to allow its TVs to read such files. (See the specifications of this TV here : https://www.lcd-compare.com/televiseur-LG32LH2000-LG-32LH2000.htm ).  And the USB port is indeed reserved for after-sales service.
