Hello

I don't know if I'm in the right forum. I have an LG TV Model 43LG5400 and I'm having problems with the USB port. I can't see the USB input on my TV, it's like it doesn't recognize the flash drive very often. And when I plug in the drive, options pop up asking if I want to play photos or music, but when I click on those icons, nothing happens. I've checked the instructions in the manual and I've also tried my USB drives on my friend's TV and they work fine.

I can't even see the files from my cell phone when I plug it in.

Once I plugged in the drive and I saw and heard my music. The problem seems very difficult because it's not consistent. Very often, the TV doesn't recognize the USB port.

Thank you.

    Hello,
Some TVs "digest" USB drives poorly, due to speed issues in reading/writing, try an external hard drive
    Excerpt from the manual:
Using a USB storage device -
    warning
    • If the USB storage device has an automatic recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.
    • Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.
    • Only use USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS file system.
    • For USB external hard drives, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage below 5V and a rated current below 500mA.
    • It is recommended to use USB drives of 32GB or less and USB hard drives of 2TB or less.
