Hello,
I have a problem that occurred abruptly this morning...
Configuration :
I am with Neuf Telecom, I have the Neuf Box Trio 3D with Phone + TV
I own 3 computers:
2 desktop PCs running XP Pro connected via a local network with Ethernet through a Hub for 1 year.
1 laptop running Vista that has never been connected to my home network (used exclusively outside)
Problem Occurrence :
I was browsing calmly on the Internet this morning when suddenly, no more connection ...
The phone works as well as the TV, but not the internet connection.
I tested the connection on both desktop PCs, then thinking it was the Ethernet cable, I connected my laptop with another USB cable directly to the Neuf Box (off the network): Same problem!
I am currently connected with my desktop PC using my mobile phone as a modem.
Troubleshooting Attempt :
I therefore decided to call the Hotline at 1077. There, the guy tells me ... let's test:
1st computer :
Start
Run
cmd
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping 192.168.1.1
'ping' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
The operator: "Oh dear, there is a big problem with this computer....."
Okay, let's test the other one ...
2nd computer :
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping 192.168.1.1
Sending a 'ping' request to 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 <loss 0%>
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
________
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping 66.102.9.99
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Unable to reach the destination host.

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 <loss 0%>
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
The operator finds this very strange... Testing on the third computer which is running Vista....
Same result.
Proposed solution by the operator :
All 3 computers are infected with the same virus at the same time (even though the 3rd one has never been connected to the same network as the other 2)
After 12 minutes of intense discussion with this stubborn guy.... his solution: Formatting all 3 PCs because they are infected O_o
I find this strange and would like your opinion... Let me know what you think and if you have a little start to a solution... I would take it... Thank you in advance

The fact that one of your PCs does not recognize the "ping" is really strange, even worrying.
However, your second PC is able to communicate with your router but not with the ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Have you tried resetting your router? Or unplugging it... waiting for a moment and then plugging it back in?
