Network issue: unable to reach the host .... Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

My problem is the following: When I try to ping a PC on the network I get this:

Sending 4 Ping requests to 192.168.1.16 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.25: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.25: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.25: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.25: Destination host unreachable.

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.16:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss)

How is it that it clearly receives the packets but is unable to reach the destination host?

The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 everywhere, and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1

And when I ping my 192.168.1.25 from 192.168.1.16 I get "Request timed out"

192.168.1.25 is on Wi-Fi and 16 is connected by cable to the Livebox.

I have exactly the same problem when I ping all wired devices (printers, PCs, etc.) whereas I do not have any with the PCs on Wi-Fi.

While my second PC on Wi-Fi can ping all devices without problems.

Does anyone have an idea? Because I’ve been browsing forums without an answer to my problem since this morning.

P.S.: This morning everything was working correctly for several days, and all of a sudden nothing...

Hello, You say that this morning everything was working well so I’m asking you a question: what have you done since this morning on the computers or on the modem? Didn’t you check the settings or something like that?

That's right, that's the problem—the only use it had this morning was word processing and internet messaging. Nothing has been changed at the network level, and besides, the other PCs are working very well.

For a summary you have:  
a PC connected by Ethernet with address 192.168.1.16  
a PC on Wi-Fi with address 192.168.1.25

You mention a second PC on Wi‑Fi: what is its address?

I think he’s still talking about the wifi PC 192.168.1.25 with which he is able to contact all the peripherals on his network….

Yes, no problem! In fact I have the following equipment: PC1 wired 192.168.1.16 PC2 wired 192.168.1.18 Printer 1 wired 192.168.1.11 Printer 2 wired 192.168.1.12 PC1 wifi 192.168.1.13 PC2 wifi 192.168.1.24 PC3 wifi 192.168.1.25 Livebox 192.168.1.1  All ping each other without issue except PC3wifi, whose only positive replies are from the wifi PCs and the livebox.

You can open your console, type the command "ipconfig" and tell us for the wifi, everything related to IPv4: the IPv4 address, the subnet mask, the broadcast, ...

Well then ??????? This thing you’ve got is really odd! Have you tried (I’d be surprised but you never know…) changing your computer’s address?

I followed your advice, I switched it to 30 instead of 25... and the same thing still.

Well, thank you very much, the problem is solved. Honestly, since the internet was working fine on all the PCs, I would never have thought to look at the Livebox connection. Here's what I did:

In the Livebox management interface:
- Services
- Internet
- In the "Status" rectangle, "Broadband" click on "Relaunch the connection"

I also enabled MAC address filtering:
- Wi-Fi
- Configuration
- Check "Enable MAC address filtering"
